7 Days Tahoe - Sarah & Mitch Wedding
Sarah and Mitch’s wedding
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Reno-Tahoe International Airport
Roovio — Had a quick day trip through Reno-Tahoe International Airport and came away really impressed. It’s a smaller airport, which made everything incredibly easy to navigate—from arrival to departure. The layout is straightforward, so getting around is quick and efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful when I had a few questions, which always makes a difference when you’re on a tight schedule. One of the biggest advantages was how fast it was to get to the rental car area—no long walks or confusing directions, just a smooth transition from terminal to car. Overall, a very convenient and well-run airport. Perfect for quick trips where efficiency matters.
First time here for me. Pretty decent middle size airport. Interesting to see slot machines like you see in Vegas, at a smaller scale obviously. You get uber from door D. It was easy for me to locate.
Such a great airport- I fly American and they are always super helpful. The airport itself is beautiful with plenty of coffee options and food options in the terminals!
I was told Reno-Tahoe International is so small. Reno-Tahoe may not be a Las Vegas, a Oakland, a San Francisco sized airport it is between Las Vegas and a Oakland. Reno-Tahoe can definitely hold it's own. I loved the organizational spaciousness upon entry to get checked in. It was busy on a Thursday, however the airport attendants kept things pleasantly in order and moving. I enjoyed all the choices in shops and restaurants. TSA area was not shocking, it was outlined for function as it should be. The TSA agents were all greeting, professional, and helpful at every turn. The boarding area could use an expansion upgrade for a lot less crowding, but, it worked and again it kept moving. I am proud of Reno-Tahoe, the biggest little airport of Reno, Nevada.
Redeeming cancelled flight should not be this difficult. I've waited in line for 2 hours now, first in the physical at the airport delta help desk. Only to be given a piece of paper with the boomers helping hand to do the scary schedule online. This is so incredibly difficult. Second time now waiting for a call back because the last person hung up on me. I'm trying to be as reasonable as I can.

Beautiful property! We stayed in a fireplace suite. We will request to stay by the lift next time. They have cute retail shops, coffee shop with grab n go, and a couple restaurants. They also have multiple pools, hot tubs, and activities. The views were stunning. We’ll be back for a ski trip!

We loved staying here!! The entire scenery and views are so incredible. The shops and restaurants were all top notch. Staff was wonderful. The pools, hot tubs, and amenities were amazing. We’re coming back for ski season!
Would not recommend. So many issues and zero response from the resort. We booked a valley view room and never actually got one. We were first put in a room on the 2nd floor where the walls were paper thin and the whole hallway smelled musty, like old dirty carpet. That night we got woken up by kids screaming in the room next door and ended up calling at 10pm asking to be moved. They told us a bellhop would come help us move our stuff. He never showed up, so we just moved everything ourselves late at night. The new room on the 3rd floor had its own problems too. There were flies and moths in it, pantry moths specifically, which honestly made us question how clean the food storage is at this place!! On top of that we were now closer to a wedding happening on property, so it was still loud, just for a different reason. Some amenities and games were also unavailable because of the wedding, and nobody told us about this beforehand or offered anything for it. The pool was overcrowded and dirty with feces, and the hot tub steps had visible dirt and grime built up in them. Food options were rough too. Across all three menus at the resort there was exactly one vegan option, a plain salad. We also got hit with a surprise overnight parking fee that was never mentioned anywhere when we booked. And when we asked for a late checkout the next day, considering we'd been woken up in the middle of the night and had to move rooms ourselves, they only offered us one hour complimentary. We filled out a full complaint through their website contact form and never heard anything back. No response, nothing. Really disappointing stay for what we paid for a “luxury resort” and honestly the lack of response afterward made it worse. Wouldn't stay here again!!!! Stay far away
This is a beautiful property with stunning views all around! The meals we have had at the resort have all been good and the cafe breakfast is great for a quick bite before heading out on the days activities. The staff have all been friendly and helpful. But the biggest standout of our stay was the e-bike rentals. The young man (Josh) working the rental shop was extremely helpful getting us set up and made some excellent recommendations. Staff like Josh are what makes the difference between an average and an exceptional resort experience! We did a half day bike rental and rode our bikes down along the Truckee River all the way into Tahoe City for lunch and shopping. If you have not used an ebike before, I highly recommend them. It made the long ride very easy, especially any steep inclines. My 55 year old knees needed the help! 😂 We also had a birds eye view of a young couple getting married and it seems like a sensational spot for a wedding. Everline is now on our youngest daughter's short list for a possible destination wedding. Either way, we will definitely be returning for future stays! *Two of my photos are of the resort and the third is the view of the Truckee River from the ebike ride.
We've been visiting the Truckee, Northstar, and Kings Beach area for years, so we figured we'd give Everline Resort a try. After this stay, I think we'll be opting out and won't be coming back. ROOMS We reserved two rooms l; a suite and a standard room and while we were thankfully on the same floor, we were still about 200 yards apart from each other. One room faced the parking lot while the other had a beautiful mountain view. Given how empty the resort was, it's hard to understand why they couldn't place us closer together, especially for a family traveling as a group. On top of that, our toilet was clogged when we got into our room. SERVICE From the moment we arrived, interactions felt unnecessarily stiff and unwelcoming. Valet staff greeted us and offered help, which we declined — but then unprompted informed us that bus service would require a crew member and that we weren't allowed to use their dolly without assistance. We hadn't asked for either. Self-parking was an inconvenient 400–500 yards from the entrance while the valet area out front sat nearly empty behind barriers. Golf carts were scattered around the property but no one offered to help — not what you'd expect at a resort of this caliber. The tone throughout our stay was never outright rude, but consistently lacking in warmth or hospitality. POOL The pool area was largely unattended despite having a full bar. Water jugs were empty and after flagging someone down for a refill, I waited over 20 minutes with no follow-up. We also had an unpleasant run-in at the cabanas; there are no signs indicating they require a paid reservation, and with no staff visible to clarify, we unknowingly sat in one. Another guest called the front desk to report us, which was ironically the only time we saw staff respond promptly. When the worker approached, we immediately told him we were getting up to leave — and his response was to tell us he couldn't have us sitting there. We had already said we were leaving. AMENITIES The grounds have a decent spread of activities including a soccer area, cornhole, and other options that are great for kids. Worth noting though that not everything is operational. the waterslide was closed during our stay, so check ahead if that's something your group is counting on. FOOD We had a really pleasant dinner at Sandy's Pub. The service there was attentive and warm. a genuine bright spot and the highlight of our stay. Overall, there are some genuine highlights here, but the inconsistency in service, lack of attentiveness, and puzzling room assignment decisions make it hard to recommend, especially when there are better options in the area we'll happily return to instead.
We just spent a long weekend at Everline Resort & Spa and had an incredible time! Check-in was quick and seamless, and our room was clean and comfortable. After reading some rough reviews before our trip, I looked around with a sharp eye and was pleasantly surprised! Dining at Sandy’s was a quick easy way to feed the family. Our waitress, Jessica, was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond. After our meal, our daughter accidentally left behind her coloring book and crayons, Jessica kindly held onto them until she saw us again. That small act of thoughtfulness meant so much to our family. Erick, the bartender, also made outstanding espresso martinis and constantly kept our water glasses full (even with a full bar of customers!) hydration is definitely key at high altitude! Servings were quite large, we could easily split a lot of the appetizers. Nachos are especially HUGE. My only complaint is that the chairs are quite wobbly throughout the restaurant, hopefully they can find a solution for that soon! Other notable kind staff experiences- Cascades for breakfast/brunch (kids under 11 eat free with an adult meal), après ski outdoor bar, lobby bar, and the palisades help counter where you can buy lift tickets. The ski-in/ski-out access with concierge to check your snow gear is simply unbeatable and made getting on and off the mountain effortless. They offer a shuttle that runs you over to the Palisades village if you are looking to head straight up to high camp or access more shopping/ dining. We also had an amazing time sledding on the large hill to the right of the lift, which ended up being one of our family’s favorite activities of the weekend. We have not visited since 2023, and after this stay, we definitely will not be waiting that long to return. The memories we created as a family will last a lifetime. Thank you, Everline, for such a wonderful and memorable experience!
I had an amazing stay at Everline Resort & Spa Lake Tahoe. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make the experience special. The property is beautiful, with stunning mountain views and well-maintained grounds that make it perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail felt high quality. The amenities were top-notch—whether you're enjoying the pool, spa, or nearby outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone. The location is also ideal, offering easy access to everything Lake Tahoe has to offer while still feeling peaceful and private. Overall, this was a 5-star experience from start to finish. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Jake's On The Lake
Roovio
So gorgeous! Food was good not great but the view made the experience spectacular 🤌🏻
Maybe consider for a lakeside cocktail at the Bar, but not for dining service. A landmark restaurant and fun gathering place for nearly 50 years, this is the final season for Jake’s on the Lake. The massive wood-beamed building, whose huge windows afford stunning lake views, is slated for demolition. Most of the quaint, local merchant shops that once surrounded it in the Boatworks Mall have already been pushed out, all to be replaced by another lakeside luxury hotel complex. Jake’s nostalgic wood interior and sweeping vistas still offer the perfect setting for a social hour. The layout features three distinct areas: a casual café-grill area in the bar, a lakefront patio, and a more upscale dining room. Unfortunately, while the physical building will remain standing for one last summer, much of its spirit already feels gone and the staff already seems to have checked-out. Despite many memorable outings to Jake’s in the past, this recent visit was deeply disappointing. The dining room service was thinly staffed and painfully slow; our server rarely visited the table and failed to give all of our guests full place settings. By comparison, the bar seemed amply staffed, yet our first round of cocktails didn't arrive until shortly before our main courses hit the table. When we were finally asked if we wanted a second round, the wait was so long that we had eaten already, so I walked to the bar to cancel the server’s drink order. By that point, we were entirely ready to leave. It also felt dismissive that our server never bothered to ask if we cared for any of Jake’s signature desserts. The Café-Bar menu has changed and so has its quality. The fish tacos featured generous portions of salmon, but a great fish taco is more than just piling fish onto a tortilla. The dish entirely lacked the seasonings and spices that make street tacos so popular, and the scant side portion of chips left a lot to be desired. Another guest ordered the signature burger, which arrived undercooked. On the positive side, the wedge salad and soup of the day were solid, well-executed plates. Little surprise that the server never checked back to ask how our food was. Jake’s will arguably go down as another casualty of Tahoe's "green gentrification." While new projects technically fund saving the basin's environment and water clarity, these new private enclaves for the wealthy come at a steep cost to public enjoyment. As each Town Center complex is built, a proportionate number of vacation rentals lose their licenses, driving lodging prices entirely out of reach for many families. I am grateful for when Tahoe was an affordable, cherished family vacation destination, and am glad that I had the chance to see Jake’s on the Lake at its best. ________________________________________
Great location with a beautiful view of the lake. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. I was dining alone and asked to be seated on the patio, but was told they don’t seat solo guests there. Instead, I was directed to a high-top table inside. After waiting over 15-20 minutes, no one even came to bring a menu or acknowledge me. At that point, I decided to leave. In the end, they simply lost a customer. It’s unfortunate because the location is excellent, but the service fell well below expectations.
Amazing location! Love the view! We arrived on a beautiful sunset. The food and service are top class. This is a must visit place in Lake Tahoe. The halibut is perfect. The chicken is juicy, and the clam chowder is just right. The service staff is as friendly as you would get.
Lake house tavern feel, high end quality food and cocktails. Beautiful view of Lake Tahoe and the mountains. Excellent staff!
Solid corporate and large scale restaurant/bar. A storied place with deep roots. Solid in all respects for dinner or lunch.
Gar Woods Grill & Pier
Delicious and beautiful patio views

Beautiful spot on the lake! We had the crab cakes, salt & vin chips, ahi tuna tacos, and fish tacos. Everything was delicious. Pretty views. You can pull up on your boat, too.

This place is beautiful as it is delicious! The house made kettle chips were soooo damn good. We are every bite! Fish tacos were bomb. Get the jalapeño ranch. And the views… incredible! Come see for yourself.
After a long day of travel, arriving to Lake Tahoe and having lunch at Gar Woods could not have been any better. Our server was so kind and attentive, the food was great and they had an overall great atmosphere, sitting right on the lake. They were attentive to my allergen needs- after ordering something I did not know had a nut based pesto in it, they quickly got rid of it and didn’t charge us. The fried zucchini was great and they have good ranch (for the ranch experts out there!). Lastly, it was very pricy but I am finding similar trends at all restaurants around here. Would definitely go back!
While expensive, the food is very good as I got to try my first Birria Mac & Cheese, and its very tasty. So, I do recommend it if you want a fantsy meal. However, it should be note two things before goin. One, its a bar first, restraunt second. So, its menue is somewhat limited. Second, its a popular designation for parites and weeding meals, so space is a preium and the only way to get a seat is at the bar.
The best restaurant I had in Lake Tahoe so far, the atmosphere is great, the food is amazing (especially the rib eye, even better than many restaurants in SF), and our server Akiko is the sweetest. I will definitely be coming back to this place :)
3 for lunch. Seated right away. Great view of Lake Tahoe. Server arrived promptly. Very good Wet Willy cocktails. We got fish tacos, smashburger, Thai chicken lettuce wraps. The meals were very good. Staff was friendly and professional. Only negative was the tables which were matte finished and felt sticky even though clean.
Very nice experience and seated promptly on the deck with beautiful view, as requested but not guaranteed. Food was good and recommend homemade potato chips for appetizer. Grilled fish tacos were done nicely but no sides. Appreciated the heat lamps. Had to ask food deliverer to clear our finished appetizer plates when he brought our entrees. He should know to do this. Overall great atmosphere.

Roovio — Burgers, fries and chips were awesome! Chips and fries were very crunchy but not too crunchy and good seasoned. Burger patty was fresh and juicy and the bun was not too soggy or dry. - 1 Star on Service for quite some wait in the front with nobody showing up but besides that everything was perfect and they were friendly
Food: Tacos were amazing, Caesar salad was alright. Bar Customer Service: Abysmal and unprofessional To start, the lady bar manager and the male bartender were non-stop flirting with each other the whole time i was at the bar (seldom touching, giggling, joking with each other). It’s okay to have fun but when it’s interfering with your operation (such as getting your customers water refilled) do that when you’re not on the clock. To preface, my first interaction with the lady bartender manager when I came to the bar was super nice and friendly, (this including flirting with her subordinate). Ultimately, I had a dispute with this same lady bar manager on my check about how the menu is written. At the top of the “favorites” section it states that Favorites comes with house-made chips and can be substituted for a salad at $3. I assumed since my entree of choice was under Favorites that it came with chips, so I decided I would do the substitution for the salad. After I asked the male bartender to make the switch, he asked if i wanted the salad as a full or a half, and I said “no, I would like the Caesar side salad”. I noticed he gave me a weird look from my response but I just figured that’s the way he was and entered it into the POS as requested. I soon collected my meal, including the salad which looked abnormally large for the typical side Caesar salad. I proceeded to eat it assuming it was a side salad. After i ate my tacos, i asked for the check. I was charged for a 1/2 salad ($8) versus a side salad ($3). I politely stated to the manager that was i charged incorrectly and it should have been $3 not $8 for the salad. She opens up a menu, starts running her finger up and down the menu, and asks me where do I see that. I point to the top of the menu (see picture) of it stating how favorites come with house-made chips and that I wanted to sub them for a side salad, and was wondering why I was given the 1/2 salad instead. Her demeanor changed from happy-go lucky to having an unprofessional attitude. She told me that tacos don’t come with chips and only sandwiches in the favorites do. I asked her, “where does that say that on the menu? Tacos is listed under favorites so i expected chips to come with it.” She said (with an attitude) she would honor it “just this one time, as that’s just how it comes. She reluctantly took off the difference of $5, and adjusted my bill. She was not happy about it (which was clearly displayed by her facial expressions and body language), and I felt like she took it personally as if she had to pay for the difference. Change your menu design or verbalize that to every one of your customers if you want to avoid confusion.
Service is fast and great. All item we ordered were tasty. The burgers, salad, and soup exceeded the expectations. The fries were particularly well made. The spaces were a bit crowded though.
Looks like they took a third of a costco chicken skewer for each one. Scammiest serving, over priced, food mediocre. Also got a tri tip sandwich not pictured, same concept. ~ 6 tables sitting here, took an hour.
Went here for NYE and received the most rude, hostile, and racist encounter with one of the female bartenders. She was very impatient and had a very bad attitude from the jump. My boyfriend asked for a shot and he asked what kind of tequila they have and she said "There is a whole wall to choose from" then for the five secs he was trying to decide she walks off. Then I try to get her attention by saying "excuse me" in a polite manner and her response totally takes me aback. She says "don't excuse me, I'm busy" ????? I said I'm aware, then tell my boyfriend she has an attitude...she processes to say if you have a problem with my attitude you can leave -- trying to make a scene. We left. I refuse to spend money where I'm not welcomed. This is my first and last time visiting because of this one bartender. It was blatant racism because she purposely ignored us before we had to flag her down. What a way to ring in 2026... Brunette, black shirt with bows in the front showing a bit of midriff, hair in a hair claw. Never again.
West Shore Market
Sandwich was delicious! Perfect food for a post hike bite
Roovio
Bomb sandwiches! Decent market. Perfect post hike comida!
Roovio
Great sandwiches! I got the club and added pickles. Cute spot on the lake to grab coffee and a quick bite. Had a little market inside too. They do flatbread pizzas at night.
I have been stopping at West Shore Market whenever I am in town. This visit we decided to try the club sandwich - turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado all stacked on a perfectly toasted roll. The ingredients tasted fresh, everything was put together just right, and it hit the spot without feeling heavy. The outdoor seating is such a great touch too; there is something about eating outside on a nice day that makes a good meal even better. The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming, the kind of spot where you feel like a regular even if you don’t live nearby.
Pricey but sandwiches are amazing - had the roast beef and the BALT. Was a great option when the restaurant across the street had an hour wait for lunch. Had a few tables inside but also would be a great grab and go option.
Their coffee and pastries were delicios, but the deli was not so good. Their breads had no taste so before you get to the meat and flavors inside their subs, you got to go thru a tastless cardboard. I strongly recommend the coffe shop and absolutely do not recommend their deli. Eitherway you'll thank me later.
Such a cute little spot with vegan-friendly options whether you want to cook your own meal or grab something on the go. Warm sandwich is a nice treat, they have oat and soy milk for your morning drinks, fresh fruit and veggies, salads, dairy-free ice-creams and chocolate spread, plant/based HU chocolate and more.
This store was highly recommended by my local Airbnb host. I went in to obtain a cinnamon roll. I was told that they ran out at 9 AM this morning. I had entered the place at 10 AM. I opted for a mocha and an almond cranberry slice of bread all which cost me $13. I have to say that was the worst mocha I have ever had. I could’ve made it with instant coffee and cocoa mix better than what I had obtained at this Place. It tasted like watered down cocoa with almond milk. And the almond cranberry sliced bread was dry. Not worth the weight.
Emerald Bay
This is a must! We did the paved hike down to the lake. Swam in the incredibly refreshing water for a bit. Then we took the more challenging rocky hike up. It was so beautiful! Breathtaking views. So much fun!
Roovio
WOW!! Pics don’t do it justice. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The water was so refreshing and crystal clear. The hike down was easy. We took a more challenging way up to catch a waterfall. So amazing!
Olympic Valley Stables
Roovio — Starts at 4pm Get there at 3:30pm
From the moment we toured Olympic Valley Stables, it just felt right. The setting, the openness, and the mountain backdrop immediately stood out, and we both knew this was where we wanted to get married. It is an incredibly beautiful venue and truly the perfect location for an outdoor mountain wedding. It had everything we were looking for in a venue and more. On the wedding day, the space was even more stunning than we remembered. Our guests could not stop talking about the views and how special the setting felt. There is something really calming and grounding about being surrounded by the mountains, and it made the entire day feel meaningful and unforgettable. One of the things we loved most about Olympic Valley Stables is how versatile the space is. It feels like a blank canvas in the best way, allowing you to make the day completely your own. Mich and Sarah were kind, welcoming, and patient. We were able to bring our vision to life while still letting the natural beauty of the venue shine through. We are so grateful we were able to get married here and cannot imagine a better place to have celebrated our wedding.
It was everything we wanted it to be. We were doing something very small and wanted to celebrate at a beautiful venue. My wife and I were beyond happy with the amenities and venue space. Mich was a constant help and alleviated quite a bit of stress on our end. Highly recommend if you wanted a bit more of a relaxed, small wedding.
We recently had our wedding at the Olympic valley stables and it was incredible. The venue offers lots of flexibility so it was awesome to create a day that felt unique to us, which included a shot-ski, beer donkeys, and a light up dance floor. The views from the venue are unlike anything else and every single one of your guests will tell you how beautiful it is. Yes it is all outside but with a few thoughtful touches we were able to keep every one warm through out the night. Mich was great to work with and really went above and beyond. If you are looking for a truly magical venue that you can make feel like yourself, I would highly recommend.
Getting married at Olympic Stables felt like hitting the jackpot! After our original venue unexpectedly fell through just weeks before the wedding, we were incredibly fortunate to learn that this hidden gem was available on our date. From the moment we stepped onto the land, we felt something sacred and grounding—unlike any other venue near Lake Tahoe. Olympic Stables isn’t just a beautiful space, it’s a place with deep soul and history. Mich is a true blessing. He went above and beyond to help us create a celebration that genuinely reflected who we are. He was kind, communicative, flexible, and truly cared—not just about the logistics, but about the heart of our day. Mich gave us the freedom to be creative and intentional, and the support to bring everything together seamlessly. It didn’t feel like we were just renting a venue—it felt like we were part of something bigger, something meaningful. If you're looking for a venue that’s not only stunning but also soulful… if you want to create a celebration that’s personal, expressive, and grounded in beauty and connection—Olympic Stables is the place. Mich and his team truly honor the land, the people, and the love that gathers and grows here. If you get to hold an event here, you will be extreemly fortunate!
Olympic Valley Stables provided the perfect venue for our daughter's wedding! The mountain backdrop is stunning and I could not imagine a more special place to witness their vows. The refreshing and gusty breezes that greeted us when we arrived at the venue ahead of the ceremony had mostly died down when it was time for the ceremony. The sound system provided by OVS enabled everyone at the ceremony to hear the officiant, the readers, and the bride & groom's vows. The open-air cocktail hour tent was perfect for the sprawling crowd, and, when the temperature dropped, we all fit wonderfully into the festive reception tent, with roll-down sides and fitted with blower heaters, which I recommend renting, depending on the time of year. Catering by Mountain Magic Catering was outstanding -- we got so many compliments on the food; the cake by Kymm's Kakes was to die for; and the seamless orchestration of all the transitions by Sarah and Mich, the venue owners, enabled us to relax and enjoy the party. I honestly believe that this was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended in such a magical place!
