Best Places to Stay in Puerto Rico for Couples

Less populated beach and very beautiful. Chairs and umbrellas are available and a little bar nearby. It was nice for me to get away from all the people. Even the same crabs will come out and play in the waves. It is a very small beach though.

Nice city beach, the water here can certainly be dangerous if you aren’t cautious and paying attention to lifeguards. Fun to play in the waves if you’re a confident swimmer. Beach chairs and umbrellas are $35/day. There are lots of hotels, restaurants and bars in the area. A great spot for simple relaxation in the sun.

Condado Beach is in a very busy area a lot of restaurants and much congested. This beach caters more to a younger more vibing crowd. There is music being played which creates a vibe waves definitely a lot rougher on this side. There are bar stands that sell pineapple drinks on the beach with or without sorbet. Yet it's so freaking refreshing and delicious

Beautiful beach. Nice spots for photos. Chair and umbrella rentals available. Only about 15 minutes from the cruise port. Just note that there are no changing areas, lifeguard towers or public restrooms. Word on the street there are strong rip currents at times.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to learn about the history of Puerto Rico, make sure you check out this location. For just $10 a person, access is granted to explore the grounds of this castle and during the time I went, your ticket was good for two days. When visiting, I would highly suggest wearing sneakers, and bringing water when touring. They do have a small gift shop on location that you can also purchase small items. Due to the beauty of this castle, it is also a great opportunity to grab some photos. The views are breathtaking and worth the visit. I would highly recommend.

El Morro is a sight to see. I went around 10:15 with two kids, age 4 and 6. The wait was just a few minutes. We stayed about 2 hours. We did a lot of walking. The kids had a shorter attention span, just wanted to see the things and explore, up and down the stairs. Beautiful views. I would advise to bring your own cold water (they do sell around 4 bucks a bottle) and umbrella or hand fan if you have. The video they showed in the casemates area was very informative and eye opening, as well as a needed break after up and down stairs. Also, there's a spot before you go downstairs with bars to look out, amazing breeze for a cool down. The day we went was slightly cloudy. The sun was hot when it came out. The few clouds were appreciated when it covered the sun. When we left around noon, the line was long. Thank goodness we came when we did. When you leave treat yourself to helado (icee) or piragua/snowcone when you get off the property. Muy deliciouso.

Price $10 and you can use the ticket at the other fort. The walk is about 30 minutes to get to the other fort. The cemetery is free to walk down to. The closest parking lot Ballaja was the 1st choice at FV9J+485, Calle Morovis, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico for $10.but is was full on a Wednesday at 1030 am we ee parked at the Esquire Garage which was $37. The walk from there was about 20 minutes. We went in July and we sweat so so much. They had water amd Gatorade in the park we got one of each fpr $8.

Such an amazing experience visiting this place. All the history behind it was phenomenal to learn. It makes you think about all the injustices the puerto rican people have been going through with such resilience. I do recommend going as they open or later in the afternoon before they close because walking there with no shade is no joke. Lol. Make sure to wear a hat and shades. The entrance fee was resonable for all the things you get to see. It should be around 2-3 hours depending on if you read all the signs with the history or just walk through. 100% would recommend! Beautiful place with a lot of history! Visiting Castillo San Felipe del Morro was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. The fort is incredibly well preserved, and the history is fascinating. The views of the Atlantic Ocean and Old San Juan are absolutely breathtaking, especially from the top of the fortress. There is plenty to explore, so wear comfortable shoes and plan to spend a couple of hours walking through the tunnels, lookout points, and historic rooms. The grounds are beautiful, and it’s easy to imagine what life was like centuries ago. Whether you’re interested in history, photography, or just looking for an unforgettable view, El Morro is definitely worth visiting. I would highly recommend adding it to your Puerto Rico itinerary!

The architecture is beautiful, the cobble streets, all the shops are something to see. And the night life is full and vibrant. The clubs seem to go on forever. You will definitely love it.

This is a small street in Old San Juan,Puerto Rico. The San Sebastián Street Festival is celebrated on this street. This year, it will take place from Thursday, January 15th to Sunday, January 18th, 2026. This is the 56th edition. The festival began in 1954 as a religious and community event, spearheaded by Father Juan Manuel Madrazo, parish priest of San José Church, to raise funds for restoration work. Then it was revived in the 1970s by Rafaela Valladares and Ricardo Alegría. In the 1970s, it transformed into a grand cultural celebration with giant papier-mâché figures, music, and dances, incorporating Puerto Rican traditions.

Such a beautiful spot. I spent a few hours hiking and honestly could've stayed even longer. Wear good shoes because some of the trails can get pretty slippery, and try to get there early before it gets too crowded.

My family and I had a great time here. We explored different trails and made it to the Britton tower. We didn't get to the big waterfall but we enjoyed the small one. We ate some good food and had some drinks. The vibe was nice. Definitely the place to check out while in Puerto Rico.

Amazing! Beautiful rainforest. We'll maintained and accessible. Staff at the visitor center were friendly and the facility was clean, informative, and offered great information. Highly recommend visiting. There are frequent locations to pull off and see various sites. Was easy to navigate for first time visitors but roads are narrow, so use caution when driving.

What an absolutely beautiful place! We really enjoyed the visitors center and then the drive up through the rainforest! This is a must do, especially if you love nature, hiking, waterfalls,and seeing breathtaking views!

So many things to do! So beautiful. Highly recommend. Multiple waterfalls that are must see. No entry fee. Parking can be a little tricky so recommend to get there early. Britton hike was a little steep going up but worth it.

Absolutely beautiful!! The waterfalls, rainbows, animals and nature. Such a beautiful place to visit. If you decide to go, wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking. They also have tours available if you chose not to walk. Either way it is a gorgeous experience!

We visited the tower during our visit to El yunque national forest. The access to rainforest opened around 8am. We captured early sunlight over the forest it looked so beautiful. The climb up to the tower is short and gives a good view of the forest.

We stopped at the tower after a rainy hike in El Yunque to another tower. The inside was a little wet due to rain and mud on people, but the top was beautiful! There were a lot of steps to climb, but it was worth it. Even in the fog, there was a view of so much lush greenery and mountains, and the cool breeze felt great. There is a parking lot right next to the tower, so easy access!

Killer view. Park right at the tower and walk up to the top. Much better chance of a view from this tower due to a lower elevation than Mt Britton. Easy to access, lots of parking, not crowded at all. Get here early!

A free observation tower you can climb for sweeping views of the forest and the ocean 🌊🌿 Lots of people line up by the viewing windows to snap photos 📸 — and honestly, the scenery is absolutely worth it. Bonus highlight? There was an adorable cat just casually hanging around… completely stealing the spotlight 🐱💛

I give them more like a 4 1/2 star rating. We only ordered a few fried fritters to go. What I did like about this location was some of the fritters are cooked at that moment. That does mean waiting for some time to pass. What I didn't l enjoy about this kiosko was, the wait time can feel longer then what it really is.

If you wants some delicious alcapurias, bacalaitos and ice cold beers...and let's not forget the amazing piña colada!! Plus outback you have the beach and a guy with a horse that you give a tip to and you can ride the horse.

We ordered combo pincho/ kabobs -chicken, pork and shrimp to share. Order took forever to arrive and pricey. All the food was dry, like it had sat out overnight , no flavor to arroz con gandules, tostones were dry , shrimp were not cleaned properly, no one came to table to offer any assistance or service. No ventilation at all- very unpleasant in heat. Don’t waste your time or money here. Go to La Parrilla - kiosks #2, fabulous food and service!!!!

We came across this place while strolling through the long strip of kiosks and I’m glad we stopped here. I ordered some buffalo wings along with a pina colada. Both things were good and the prices were decent too. I will definitely have to try this spot out again while in town visiting.

This was my first time to PR and first exposure to the food of the island. This kiosk/restaurant was excellent! I had chicken, rice, and fried plantain. It was amazing! I wanted to go back, but our travel plans didn't allow. I highly recommend!

Gorgeous!!! We had a wonderful time at this beach. We stayed in Fajardo and enjoyed the quick drive to Luquillo. Lots to see here in the sand. We found fish and some beautiful flowers.

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico was more than what we hoped it would be. It was the perfect getaway for our celebration. The staff was awesome from beginning to end…friendly, welcoming, helpful, and always with a gorgeous smile. Helpful is an understatement! A very special thank you to Tanesha, who was so patient with me while I probably annoyed her with every detail of this trip. She answered my questions, helped make sure everything came together, and made the entire process feel effortless. Waking up and stepping straight onto the sand was everything I imagined it would be. Also (Marco) Hernandez who checked us in, was a pleasant face to see as we came off of a long flight! He was helpful, funny and wished us a happy day to celebrate! They were both so lovely! The room itself was beautiful, and I especially loved the separate soaking tub. It added such a relaxing and romantic touch after long days exploring the island. The resort was the perfect ‘home base’ for our adventures (rainforest, hikes, kayaking, food tours), close to all of the typical tourist(y) sites but it was also the perfect place to slow down and enjoy each other. Thank you to everyone at Hyatt Grand Reserve for making our anniversary so memorable. We can't wait to come back!

We had our wedding here in September of 2025 and it was the best decision I have ever made. The staff was accommodating and understood that the proposal and wedding were a surprise(proposed on a Saturday and married on a Sunday). The resort itself was relatively empty (which we liked) and the wedding venue was barebones (which is what we wanted) with a gorgeous view. Breakfast buffet was amazing and we booked it to be included with the room(a smart choice). Golf cart and drivers were prompt and super punctual. We will be returning every year (except this year due to a newborn).

The view is pretty. Pool is nice. Beach sand is not that soft, lots of shells on it. Service is really slow and low quality!! Check in check out takes forever, don’t know why so slow. Room service call front desk always wait long time for people to pick up, if you want a car take you to the lobby, book half hr ahead. Check in person sometimes messed with the room change service you always need to go back to double check. They will get your service in the end anyway but you need to be a very patient person.

The hotel has beautiful ground, great pools and a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Most workers go out of their way to provide exceptional service. The bellman offered to change our room to get us closer to the main pool, the restaurant manager offered dinner reservations that were initially not available because we had toddlers and infants, the list goes on and on, any request made for anything delivered to the room is handled in less than 10min… Will definitely stay here again

We had an amazing experience at Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico! We checked in yesterday as a family of three to celebrate my parents’ anniversary and my dad’s birthday, and Lissette at the front desk made our stay truly unforgettable. She was incredibly warm and welcoming, gave us a beautiful room with an amazing view, and when she learned about our celebration, she kindly arranged two bottles of wine for us — such a thoughtful surprise! Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out. It’s rare to meet someone who goes the extra mile to make guests feel so special. The bell man Georgie also did a fantastic job, he drove the golf cart and send us to our room ensuring everything is perfect. Thank you, Lissette and Georgie for making our family celebration even more memorable. Highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely be back!

Great local vibe. Live music on the weekends, the artist I saw was very talented and lively. The food was amazing! Great way to taste Puerto Rican cuisine. Large wine selection as well as cigars.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at this restaurant. The only positive part of our visit was the live music, which created a nice atmosphere. The service, drinks, and food were very disappointing. The restaurant was not even busy, but it took almost an HOUR and a HALF for our food to arrive. When it finally came, the food quality was poor and did not meet our expectations. We ordered a mojito and a margarita, but both drinks were disappointing. The mojito tasted like mostly simple syrup with alcohol, and we had to send it back. We ended up finishing our visit with beers instead. To make things worse, when the bill arrived, they removed the mojito but still tried to charge us for the margarita, even though the drinks were part of the issue we experienced. The servers seemed lost, were not knowledgeable about the menu, and could not properly explain the dishes. Overall, aside from the live music, there was very little positive about our experience. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great service. Had the del dia sanchoch for appetizer. Really good a must try. Main plate was the pasta chicken Alfredo. It was ok. Salad was ok. Tried the chicken a la parrilla it was good. Tried the tacos camaron spicy crab and it was good, get that if you like tacos. Tried fried whole fish, it was fine, like any other fried fish. Mofongo chicken was good, good sauce on it. They charge the water here because they give you bottled water. $6.50. 4 adults, 1 child, 5 meals, 1 sopa. $170ish with tip.

Do not come here if you're a tourist. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but the service took an unresonably long time. We ordered an appetizer that took an abnormally long time, and at one point the waiter had asked us about the appetizer. We believe that they may have forgotton about it. Furthermore, they got a side wrong on one order and completely forgot about one of the other orders. We had to wait longer so that they could make the order that they forgot. Our drinks came in small plastic cups and were not refilled for a very long time and even then they were only refilled once. This is because they charge for water, which we were not informed of until we read the bill. It was 6.50 per 1L bottle used to fill our drinks, so we paid $13. The infrastructure is also questionable. The restaurant is two floors with stairs that are possibly a foot in height each step. Waiters have to carry dishes up the flight of stairs to serve customers on the second floor, which is unconventional at the least. The servers were kind and hospitable (with us not knowing Spanish) and the food was good, but nothing special. Overall, I would not come here again.

Very mediocre but expensive food. This is one of those places that reviewers need to say is great because they paid so much. For lunch, we had the seafood mofombo, soup (which was the best thing we had), and dessert. The seafood was bland with no flavor- sadly it was improved by adding hot sauce to it. Beautiful beach! Super clean, accessible, and easy parking right across the street. This beach has big (sometimes rough) waves so you can’t swim out but it’s fun for getting in waist deep, boogie boarding, or just enjoying the water from shore.

Not a hugely populated beach and turned out to be a nice place to sit and enjoy the sunset. The sand had drifted out into the road while I was there, but the local maintenance crews were out correcting that to make it safe to drive. Occasional live music and dance classes if the weather's right.

Went for a morning sunrise, sang and danced with no disturbances. The beach was peaceful and absolutely stunning view of the sky and ocean. Sadly there were two large pieces of wood washing up on the beach with the waves.

Nice beach where a lot of the locals go to. It’s clean , lots of parking , small amount of vendors but no one walking. Around trying to always sell you something. Pro tip- BEWARE -the beach has parts with lots of rocks on the shore and has deep drops from the shore line. Potential to get cut if you’re not careful is high.
