My 3-Day Puerto Rico Itinerary

Got to the airport around midnight. Ready to navigate clean airport. Bathroom were clean. Uber pick up was from B 19-20 area. Since landed in PR, its been a great experience.

One of my least favorite airports. The restaurants are a mix of American fast food: dominoes, popeyes; international fare: ramen, Spanish; and gas station food. And it's so expensive. Yes airports are expensive, but it's expensive and unsatisfying. Then the duty free is a waste of time. You can get the same items on the island and just pack it in your bag and save a bunch of money. And the security is super relaxed. I have a subdermal device that always get me pat down. I went through, they asked if I had a necklace, I said yes, and they cleared me. The airport isn't bad, it's just not good and spending time there isn't fun.

JetBlue Territory It is a key focus city for JetBlue, operating dozens of daily flights. 7. Cruise Passenger Magnet Many travelers heading to Caribbean cruise departures at Port of San Juan arrive through SJU. 8. Airport Size The airport spans roughly 1,600 acres, compact but efficient, with runways long enough for wide-body jets. 9. US Territory Advantage Even though it feels like a tropical escape, SJU is a U.S. domestic airport. No immigration for U.S. citizens arriving from the mainland. 10. Art and Island Vibes Inside, you’ll find an airport dotted with Puerto Rican art, bright colors, and that unmistakable island warmth the moment you land.

Great airport. Best advice be there 2 to 3hr early just to be on the safe side. Just please wary of one of elevators to the terminals it will get stuck especially trying to get out. Follow these steps when at the airport have your bags go threw scanner so they can yellow tag it, then go to the counter and have your bag checked in after that you have to get in line for TSA, it can be really quick so just be patient and you shall make it to your flight.

I was flying out of Terminal A at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, and honestly the experience getting in was rough. With everything going on around the government shutdown, TSA was extremely slow—long lines and pretty chaotic just to get through the initial checkpoint. Definitely give yourself extra time. The airport itself feels older and a bit worn down. It could really use a refresh. That said, once you’re inside, there are actually a lot of solid food options for breakfast and lunch, plus some good shopping and local snacks. On the bright side, flights seem to run pretty smoothly and leave on time, which helps make up for the hassle getting in. Not my favorite airport, but it gets the job done for the area.

We were taking a cruise and flew in the day before to enjoy old San Juan and need a place to stay and found this little jewel. Can't beat the location and it was a nice, and budget friendly place to stay in the heart of Old San Juan! It was easy to find and check in was easy as well. The store right below managed the place and we were able to store our luggage before and after our stay which was fantastic! We were already aware we were on the 3rd floor so it did take some strength to get the luggage up the steps but once we arrived on our floor there was a nice sitting area and then we made our way to the room. Even though it was an older room, it was nicely decorated and seemed clean. I felt secure in the fact you had to key into main door, key into your floor door, and then your room. The place had a nice rooftop but we didn't have time to use it. The place was right it the heart of everything in Old San Juan which was awesome and the staff was friendly and responsive. Its great for a day or two stay and we would certainly book again!

Great location but be prepared with ear plugs because the area is noisy at night. Basic tolietries offered like soap and shampoo. Our room was on the second floor and the restroom was tiny. Nice terrace on the 4th floor. Great place to crash for a night or two if your plan is to enjoy Old San Juan by foot including at night.

The only good thing about this place is the location. The management was rude and unhelpful. There was excessive noise overnight from other guests, and when we brought it up, the manager simply said they could not control people. That was their solution to the issue. On top of that, there was no hot water in the bathroom, and the AC is controlled by the property rather than the guests. The only positives were that the room, although tiny, was clean, and the housekeeper in the morning was very nice. We ended up finding another place in the same area for the same price, but the difference was that they actually cared about their guests. I would never stay at Navona Studios again.

The room itself wasn’t anything special and the bathroom was tiny. And the only shower water temp was medium. But I didn’t care about any of that. The location was fantastic, the price is affordable, and it was clean and comfortable. It’s so fun to be right in the heart of Old San Juan. The rooftop was fantastic though, very clean and updated.

There is no elevator at this place. We did not have any hot water at all. The street noise was excessive until at least 2:00 in the morning. Cars were driving by with loud speakers playing music. Groups of people hung out outside the hotel on the street at all hours of the morning. We were very disappointed. The only good thing was is the room was extremely clean.

I stopped by Mallorca for breakfast and had a pleasant experience. I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich, which was good and satisfying, though not particularly memorable. The real star of the visit was the coffee. It was outstanding. I enjoyed it so much that I had two cups while I was there and even ordered another one to go. It was easily some of the best coffee I had during my trip. The service could be improved, as it felt a bit slow and less attentive than some of the other places I visited. However, the quality of the coffee alone makes Mallorca worth a stop, especially if you’re a coffee lover. Overall, it was a good breakfast experience and a place I would visit again for the coffee.

Cafeteria mallorca has a vibe from another era. The food was good. I got the ham and cheese mallorca which had a nice dusting of powdered sugar. The coffee was lackluster and the amount given is sad. It would have been much better too if the food and coffee were served with actual plate and cups instead of styrofoam. The service was okay. Our server checked up on us once but the food took 20min to show up despite everyone’s orders being very simple and small. The atmosphere was probably the best part with the old diner feel. However it was a little dingy so a little more upkeep would have made it feel a little more clean

Cafeteria Mallorca makes no theatrical attempt to dazzle the eye. There is no grandeur in its décor, no flourish of ornament, no anxious striving after fashion. It presents itself, rather, as a most ordinary café, plain in aspect and modest in ambition, such that an inattentive passerby might dismiss it altogether and continue on in pursuit of something more ceremonious and, very likely, less honest. And herein lies its virtue. For one must admit, however reluctantly, that simplicity is at times the highest form of wisdom. In a city where people speak of the mallorca with the easy certainty reserved for institutions of true merit, La Mallorca has earned its place not by spectacle, but by quiet excellence. It is not advertised by pomp, but by the testimony of those who know. The mallorca itself is splendid, comforting, satisfying, and entirely without pretension, yet wholly assured of its worth. Adorned with a delicate dusting of sugar, it is a small but exquisite indulgence, and a fine testament to the baker’s craft. To partake of them is to experience a most exquisite indulgence for the palate and a cup of morning coffee renders the whole affair finer still, lending to that sugared indulgence a most agreeable completeness. My partner was greatly pleased by it, which must be counted no small endorsement. For when a place of such humble bearing can so thoroughly win the affections of one’s companion, it proves a truth too often neglected by establishments of greater vanity, that grandeur is no substitute for substance, and that a simple café, when guided by sincerity and skill, may triumph most handsomely over all the rest.

Stopped in for breakfast on our first day here in PR and mad did it NOT disappoint. Service was a bit on the slow side, but nothing terrible. Place felt authentic. Not a fancy place at all, but we prefer local spots. Mallorca sandwich with egg, cheese, half and bacon 5/5. Fresh squeezed OJ 5/5 Freshly made to order papaya shake 5/5 Fresh lemonade 5/5. All in all, highly recommend!

This was my first mallorca experience, and it was by far the best! These are the best version of breakfast sandwiches I've ever had -- so flaky, buttery, and decadent. I usually don't like sweet savory foods, so I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth powdered sugar coating. My brother was licking the plate afterwards. My favorite was the ham, cheese, and egg Mallorca. The bacon is crispy and plentiful, but I don't think it's necessary. The chicken fricasee, recommended to us by our waiter, was also very delicious! Saucy, flavorful, with tender chicken, pairing perfectly with the seasoned rice and beans. I'd get this again as well. The orange juice tasted a bit watered down but was very refreshing. My only regret was that we didn't try the mallorca on its own -- it looked beautifully soft and fluffy! Definitely one of my favorite food experiences in Puerto Rico. A must-visit!

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to learn about the history of Puerto Rico, make sure you check out this location. For just $10 a person, access is granted to explore the grounds of this castle and during the time I went, your ticket was good for two days. When visiting, I would highly suggest wearing sneakers, and bringing water when touring. They do have a small gift shop on location that you can also purchase small items. Due to the beauty of this castle, it is also a great opportunity to grab some photos. The views are breathtaking and worth the visit. I would highly recommend.

Such an amazing experience visiting this place. All the history behind it was phenomenal to learn. It makes you think about all the injustices the puerto rican people have been going through with such resilience. I do recommend going as they open or later in the afternoon before they close because walking there with no shade is no joke. Lol. Make sure to wear a hat and shades. The entrance fee was resonable for all the things you get to see. It should be around 2-3 hours depending on if you read all the signs with the history or just walk through. 100% would recommend! Visited here while vacationing in Puerto Rico. We had to park in old San Juan and it was a long walk in the heat so make sure you wear your walking shoes and breathable clothes otherwise you'll just spend your time trying to stop the sweat. Plenty of cool places to stop while making your way up to the castle. Hope yall enjoy the history!

beautiful lawn and also iguanas! Very aesthetic architecture and the views do not disappoint. The walk towards the castle is amazing. The smooth green grass, kites flying, ocean in the back it’s all so beautiful. Too bad there seems to be some construction going off on part of the lawn but meh wasn’t that big of a deal

This 16th century, Spanish Fort is amazing. It has breathtaking views everywhere you turn, many ramparts, tunnels, and many levels. It’s very well maintained and clean. Give yourself at least two, maybe three hours to explore this beautiful Fort, the surrounding lawns and walkways and pathways. There’s lots to see in the fort and outside the fort. If you walk and approach across the huge front lawn to the main gate, you can go back to town along the sea walk where you will spot large iguanas and semi wild cats. This is a must see if you’re in old San Juan, you can’t miss it.

This was worth the wait. We waited around 20 minutes. The host and servers were very friendly and hospitable. The vibe in the restaurant was very festive. We were seated upstairs and had a great view of the first floor. The pina coladas were delish and the food was so yummy. We had the snapper, steak, pork. We had sides of yellow rice and sweet plantains. So good! You name it, it was delish. We had the coconut flan and the tres leches for dessert and I must say the flan was the best one I’ve ever tasted. I understand the hype of visiting this long-established restaurant!

I don’t understand the good reviews here! The food was rather disappointing! The garlic shrimp had no garlic flavor of what so ever to it, it rather had overcooked green bell pepper and fennels that tasted terrible and mushy. The shrimp itself had zero flavor. Their best selling plate which is the cubed beef with onions was nothing more than mediocre, edible but that’s about it. The atmosphere is loud, noisy with non stop movement around you. The space is tight so the waiters are always passing between tables in narrow spaces so you never get a moment of relaxation. The noise level was so high that I wanted to leave as soon as I got in. Regarding the service, the waiters/ waitresses were all pleasant however, as you can see the kitchen and serving area from your table, I saw unspeakable stuff happening! One of the servers hand picked the shrimps one by one from a pot without washing hands or wearing gloves after serving so many tables, handling menus and touching every surface possible around her. The other waiter took a bite of something and then licked three of his fingers and came straight to serve the table next to me! To say the least, zero hygiene and sanitization here! This was the only bad experience we had eating in PR. And of course don’t forget the 40 minute wait to get a table because they don’t do reservations only to go inside and be disappointed. I recommend that you avoid this place.

Quite the amazing food experience. We went during Sanse, and were lucky enough to be seated right away, for 7 of us. The bill with appetizers, 7 meals and one pitcher of Sangria with Tip was $300.00. What a wonderful surprise that was. The waitress was friendly, the food service was fast, and the atmosphere was fun and decor was authentic. Every time someone made it in to be seated, they received a cheer with applause from the entire restaurant. They celebrated birthdays with an amazing ensemble of singers and instruments, MY birthday included. Everyone ate every last bite off their plates, we had fish, mofongo, shrimp, and steak, and we all enjoyed it. Some from my group were locals, others born there but are frequent flyers and others are Puerto Ricans from New York. We know good food, and this place knows how to make it. Thank you for putting flavor in our trip! Hands down, the best food we had while eating out in the area.

In San Juan for the day and randomly stopped here for lunch. The food was delicious. Very authentic. I loved the rice & beans. We all enjoyed our food. Our server was helpful and friendly. Glad we stopped here and when we are in SJ again, we will def be back.

We love the whole fried snapper here and came twice for the same dish within our one week visit. The fish is coated with savory garlicky flavors! It had an addicting crunch on the outside with fresh flaky tender meat on the inside. We also love the yellow rice and rice with beans! There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between the medium vs large fish, and service can be slow depending on the time. The tamales was okay, but we definitely recommend the whole fried snapper!

A bit underwhelming. We paid $5 a person to get in, but we could have just walked around the gardens for free and seen almost as much. The gardens are beautiful and lush. Definitely worth walking through

Former home of Juan Ponce de Leon built in 1521. We visited on a weekday. Casa Blanca was an interesting walk through history. The old house features antique furniture and portraits. There was no tour guide so it was a self-guided open house experience. Admission was inexpensive. There are several cat residents to meet and a beautiful tropical garden with grand trees. Spent about 30 minutes looking around and snapped some pictures. Loved the old furniture and history. This was my second visit to Casa Blanca, last year I tried to visit on a Saturday and it was closed for an event so I recommend having a backup plan nearby if it's closed.

Museo Casa Blanca is one of the most magical wedding venues in Old San Juan. After years of recommending it to my couples, I finally had the chance to photograph a wedding here, and it exceeded every dream I had!! With its historic architecture, sweeping ocean views, and lush gardens, Casa Blanca is a rare gem. We had a beautiful First Look in the garden near the fountain, followed by a ceremony in the lower patio with a panoramic view of the San Juan Bay. The setting was quiet, intimate, and unlike anywhere else in the city. As a wedding photographer, I especially love that you don’t need to leave the venue grounds to get a variety of stunning portrait locations: it offers the full Old San Juan aesthetic, all in one place. Sharing a few of my favorite photos to show just how breathtaking this venue can be for an intimate wedding or elopement.

For those of you who are students of history, this is a great museum, especially considering it’s history, however it’s in need of some time and money to help renovate and make it presented in a better way for public viewing. It’s only $5.00 to enter and worth the visit but expect a little rustic presentation. There are some interesting gardens around the house but again, in need of some TLC.

So close to the cruise port and so worth the time! My wife and I spent a few hours visiting old San Juan just before Christmas, 2025. The Paseo de la Princess is gorgeous! It was all decked out in Christmas decorations when we were there. We enjoyed an art exhibit at the old jail. We went into the courtyard at the back of the building, then turned right to go through a narrow passageway to see a few preserved old jail cells (not the most inviting accommodations!). We went on to walk around the path by the sea, then onward to the National Monument and through the old town back to our ship. Lots of atmosphere, and well worth the time spent!

San Juan is beautiful and this is a lovely place to stroll along, in the shade from the trees and browsing the many local crafts at the stalls dotted along the way. If coming off a cruise ship head left.

The Paseo de la Princesa is, without a doubt, one of the most magical places in Old San Juan. From the moment you start walking among the trees and colonial style lanterns, you feel like you're traveling back in time. The ocean breeze, the sound of the fountain, and the view of the bay create a unique experience...perfect for a stroll with family, your partner, or simply to disconnect from the noise of the world. Along the path, you'll find local artisans, live music, and if you're lucky, even a cultural performance. All of this set against the majestic backdrop of El Morro and the city’s protective walls. It’s safe, clean, and has a special vibe you can only feel in Puerto Rico. Every time I go, I'm reminded why this piece of history remains one of my favorite spots. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals!

Good place to start your walking tour of old San Juan. Park in the lot nearby and walk all the way to the “Puerta de San Juan” or take the scenic walking path along the water if it’s open. Every time I’m in PR I come to old San Juan and do the same walking lap. It never gets old. Plenty of vendors of food, drinks and souvenirs all over the place.

On of my favorite spots out here. They have some great piña coladas. I wish I took the name of my first waiter to give him credit. He has a bald head and curling mustache. And I need to give credit to the beautiful Afro-latina with the curly hair, behind the bar on the first floor, who made the piña coladas while we waited for seating upstairs. My review is based on those two. Definitely reserve the tables upstairs if you have time to wait. I had the Skirt steak one night with mofongu and stewed rice and beans. The steak was very tender ordered with a medium doneness. The picture below is the surf and turf which was also pretty good.

To start the service here was the highlight. The servers were both friendly and attentive. The main issue we had was with cockroaches which invaded our dinner about halfway through. From behind the bar we saw 5-10 cockroaches the size of dates crawl all over the bar, ceiling, and walls around our table. At one point our server had to swat away a cockroach for us as it got very close to our table. The food here was alright. I had the shrimp and carne frita mofongo with a side of arroz mamopasteao. The rice was excellent. The best I had on my trip to PR was 100% recommend. The carne frita was dry and the mofongo was similarly dry and hard. I couldnt cut through the monfongo with my fork. Additionally they didnt give enough sauce for the mofongo so that didnt help the dryness. The flan de queso was good. The drinks were good. I got the pina colada and the mojito and both were excellent. Well balanced with alcohol and sweetness. The wait is very long. Expect to wait at least 1hr before being seated and one of the nights we tried to go and never got called back.

The food was absolutely ahhhh-mazing! The drinks, so disappointing - watered down, small and expensive for what we received. The night atmosphere indoors was live, as the music on all levels was booming while the crowd was in and out. We opted for outside seating, and still it was quite crowded. Service was delayed at times. Overall, our meals/appetizers, we throughly enjoyed.

Great Mofongo and queso frito. Best Pina Colada i’ve ever had. Amazing service and very attentive from the employees, especially Luis who was absolutely amazing. 10/10 recommend!

Todo estuvo muy buen! the fish tacos and beef empanadillas were delicious and the verguenza colada was really good. Kelvin was our server and he was very friendly and gave amazing service

Very intriguing place. We went for dinner and drinks around 6:00 pm and just walked in and had a great meal and amazing cocktails. First off I want to say that, when we left there was long line waiting to get in!! - boy we were lucky to walk in when we did. The reason it’s an intriguing place is because there are 8 interconnected bars within one place!! Every bar has its own unique ambience- so you can do bar hopping within one place!! The bartenders are willing to be challenged- so feel free to! Go early and enjoy!

La Factoria in Old San Juan is a fantastic bar with a super cool vintage vibe and a lot of character. The space is beautifully decorated with eclectic details, and unlike many busy bars, it actually has comfortable seating, which makes a big difference. The corner location gives it a great atmosphere, perfect for people-watching during the day and lively bar hopping at night. The bartenders and mixologists are fast, skilled, and clearly know what they’re doing. The cocktail menu is creative, but they’re also happy to make classic cocktails even if they’re not listed on the menu. Service is efficient, the drinks are consistently excellent, and they accept cards, which is convenient. A must-visit spot in San Juan for both casual drinks and serious cocktail lovers

Went to La Factoria while in San Juan and had a great time. The different rooms were a really fun touch, each one had a different vibe and music, which made the place feel bigger than it looks from the outside. The music was good, the bartenders were really nice, and the martinis were honestly the best drinks I had the whole trip. It’s the kind of spot where you can walk around, find a room you like, and stay there for a while without getting bored. Overall really fun atmosphere and I would definitely go back next time I’m in Puerto Rico.

Fantastic cocktail bar in old San Juan which has been on top bar lists. We were there during day hours when only the front room was open, it had a casual and chill atmosphere. Bartenders were friendly. Drinks were all very good!

Another great experience renting from Enterprise in PR! I wouldn’t go with anyone else. No problems, kind and prompt service, vehicle upgraded. Easy Peasy. Edit: i did make sure to choose the non-airport Enterprise, it’s 8min from the airport. The reviews are much better than the in-airport location.

the location was convenient, $8 uber to/ from the SJU airport by Chilis in Isla Verde. it was not busy no wait and the front desk man was very nice . the car was nice and clean and new. the only bad thing the car had no remote to lock and unlock and the price for the rental was very high like $100/ day when it was only an economy car and only 3 days not during any holiday. The $200 deposit was returned in a few days no problem even with an after hours no staff present return leaving keys in the drop box

I am only provide some stars as the people were pleasant. We booked a car for pick up and completed the whole process online with the expectation we show up and go. We waited 20 min for an attendant to show up to the desk, then they told us we needed to wait for the car to be ready- which means they had to go back to the airport and pick up a car another 34 min. What’s even more frustrating is we booked using the you click we pick. Basically they should have given us any reasonable car at the minimum or better level for what we selected but they took nearly an hour over our reservation time to get us the car they knew we had booked. No discount or upgrade for a highly avoidable inconvenience.

The employees at the location were very nice and helpful making the whole experience of getting and returning the car very easy. They upgraded me from Compact car to Compact SUV and the car I got was new and in great condition. So overall I was very happy with the experience.

Rented a car for one day to go to El Yunque. Car was just as advertised/reserved, exact price. Service with Julian was fantastic: friendly, efficient, easy. They have a secure drop-box so that you can easily return after hours. Would definitely use this agency again.

We don’t speak Spanish so it was intimidating, but they have a super friendly staff and they were very patient and had a young woman speak English to us and help us. Nice cold AC!!.

The food was great, the coffee was amazing, and the people working were nice. We found this by searching Google and making a quick detour off the highway to get here for an early breakfast. It's worth a stop and much more reasonable prices than competitors.

Jose was an exceptional tour guide. Arrived on time. Very responsive to questions both before and during the tour. Very informed and informative. He was very helpful and involved but not overbearing. He asked questions and went out of his way to make sure we were doing the things we wanted and he'd lead the way.

Jose is the best tour guide in Puerto Rico. If you are going to do a rainforest tour, he’s the guy to call. He is very accommodating, conversational, and helpful on the tour. Super safe for everyone. We had a very slippery day on the rocks but he helped everybody through it. In addition, he helped other people on other tours to make sure they made it and did not get hurt on the slide or jumping off of the rocks. Afterwards we were supposed to go to a beach but he checked the weather and noticed it was raining there… instead of taking us back to the port, he went out of his way to drive us to a better beach and stopped for drinks and snacks on the way! Couldn’t have asked for a better time or guide. He knew all the secret spots and hidden gems in Puerto Rico! BOOK THIS COMPANY!

The best private tour guide/concierge in Puerto Rico we only had one day to enjoy and experience the sexy island of P.R and hands down a private tour guide is the way to go, the other tour guide co. just took my money and only offered one activity at a time. We knocked out all the fun activities in one day with Jose/private tour guide made it happen, helping us step by step made every event safe but fun. The natural water slides and water falls are beautiful plus the beach with the jet ski felt good and liberating I love the soft sand with warm waters. The Puertican food including their hot dogs are out of this world. To top it off a Jose set up a personal private hair stylist to come to my Airbnb and gave me a blowout Sunday morning to get me glammed for our Bad Bunny concert. I fell in love with Puerto Rico the people, the vibe, the energy, the food, Mother Nature, everything including Jose from El Yonque Tours made our trip a memorable one. This is our go to vacation spots definitley and always use El Yonque Rainforest Tours and Transportation. God bless

We cannot rate this tour high enough. Carlos our tour guide was amazing. We scheduled with him the morning of from referral and he prompt and on time. Incredibly knowledgeable about the rainforest and all of Puerto Rico and included a stop for great authentic food and smoothies. He stayed with us the entire time and helped all of our kids - very trustworthy. He had great contacts in the rainforest to make the trip very special and authentic! Definitely a must do!! Awesome!!!

the tour guide carlos is one of the best out there knows a lot of people, places, and information about the islands beautiful nature and history. if you want an authentic puerto rican experience look no further this is not any regular tour he completely trust worthy kid and adult friendly all the way best experience i had in puerto rico hands down

We loved this beach and spent 6 hours here and didn’t want to leave. Clean, spacious, shade. Can rent chairs and umbrellas. A lot of food available to purchase. Water calm and clear. Huge parking lot for $4. Able to drive mobility scooter right to sand/palm tree area without difficulty.

This is a great beach to visit. The water is clear. There are umbrella and chair rentals available as well as various kiosks for food and adult beverages. They will even bring you your food if you call to order. The cost to enter the beach is $4, credit card only. You will unfortunately see some trash in the sand and at times in the water but overall it is a great beach. We visited twice while in PR.

This is a great balneareo. It has many food vendors. The beach was clean and all the other people were enjoying the beach aswell there were not obnoxious people around. The water is crystal clear. The price to go in was $4.00 there are ample of parking. They dont rent umbrella, nor chairs. The open from 8am to 6pm.

One of the best and most family-friendly beaches in Puerto Rico! The sand is soft, the water is calm and perfect for swimming, and the facilities are excellent. The bathrooms are super clean, and the area is well-maintained with lifeguards, showers, and shaded spots to relax. Parking is easy, and the beach is just steps away from the famous Luquillo Kiosks, where you can enjoy amazing local food. A must-visit beach! 🌴☀️🌊

Full disclosure, these pictures are at the South end of the beach which is before the paid parking area, and this not in the middle of the cove where the water is warmer and calmer. However, even with the free-parking area, you can still get an excellent beach day and enjoy the water. I had a seat floatation device which safely kept me close to the shore. This section was not as crowded as the paid section and as you can see from the pictures, there is a beautiful ocean view. The sand is light brown and clean. This area is not polluted and popular with locals. The paid section dos have nicer sand and warmer water but is much more crowded.

Another great experience renting from Enterprise in PR! I wouldn’t go with anyone else. No problems, kind and prompt service, vehicle upgraded. Easy Peasy. Edit: i did make sure to choose the non-airport Enterprise, it’s 8min from the airport. The reviews are much better than the in-airport location.

the location was convenient, $8 uber to/ from the SJU airport by Chilis in Isla Verde. it was not busy no wait and the front desk man was very nice . the car was nice and clean and new. the only bad thing the car had no remote to lock and unlock and the price for the rental was very high like $100/ day when it was only an economy car and only 3 days not during any holiday. The $200 deposit was returned in a few days no problem even with an after hours no staff present return leaving keys in the drop box

I am only provide some stars as the people were pleasant. We booked a car for pick up and completed the whole process online with the expectation we show up and go. We waited 20 min for an attendant to show up to the desk, then they told us we needed to wait for the car to be ready- which means they had to go back to the airport and pick up a car another 34 min. What’s even more frustrating is we booked using the you click we pick. Basically they should have given us any reasonable car at the minimum or better level for what we selected but they took nearly an hour over our reservation time to get us the car they knew we had booked. No discount or upgrade for a highly avoidable inconvenience.

The employees at the location were very nice and helpful making the whole experience of getting and returning the car very easy. They upgraded me from Compact car to Compact SUV and the car I got was new and in great condition. So overall I was very happy with the experience.

Rented a car for one day to go to El Yunque. Car was just as advertised/reserved, exact price. Service with Julian was fantastic: friendly, efficient, easy. They have a secure drop-box so that you can easily return after hours. Would definitely use this agency again.

I mean what is not to love when you can try all the local desserts in one well know and delicious bakery. You order at the counter either take out or sit in. We decided to sit in. The nice lady at the counter gave us pointers about what to order. In order from our favorite to least favorite (but still delicious): tres leche cake, coconut pudding, guava cheesecake, and their cheese pastry. The cake was moist and great subtle flavor. I loved the pudding too- smooth, light with a touch of cinnamon. I had never really had guava before and it came highly recommended so we tried and really enjoyed it as well. The cheese pastry was fine, a little drier for our liking but still glad we tried a local dessert. I think you definitely need to do a sampling from here. There were so many things that looked really good. I would even go back to try the main courses. Kind service, delicious desserts what more do you need?

This place was amazing! The food here is top notch! One of our favorite places so far to eat! Definitely coming back here the food and service 10/10 as you can see the food it taste just as good as it looks! Oh and the mimosas here were great as well.

Kasalita – Delicious Food, Great Coffee, and Fast Service Kasalita was an amazing stop. We tried the Cuban sandwich, breakfast sandwich, flan, and guava turnover—all of it was absolutely delicious. The coffee was excellent too, and the service was fast despite the place being bustling. It’s a lively, welcoming spot with great food and a smooth experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Today we stop here for breakfast. Every thing was good, coffee and the avocado toast. The place have a sweet staff too plus soup. Is very busy but the get your orders very quick. Nice and clean place , staff are kind. The place have a big parking space. Recommended. One thing, is a post that president Obama was here eating breakfast too.

Playa El Escambrón is a beautiful beach to visit if you’re looking for a calm and peaceful vibe. The water is gentle, perfect for relaxing, and the atmosphere is very chill with friendly people around. Watching the sun go down there was pure magic—one of those moments that stays with you. A perfect spot to unwind and just enjoy life.

Beautiful. Snorkeling in these water was a gem I enjoyed every moment of it. The water felt amazing and the atmosphere with salsa playing in the background and familes enjoying their time together was priceless.

My first time here and it was beautiful. Just relaxing looking at the water seeing the Puerto Rican flag 🇵🇷 was a sight to see. The beach was very clean and watching the beautiful people. I had acgreat time.... I will be back next year..already scoping out my next resort stay. 5 Stars to the Beach and my overall stay in San Juan..old and new!

The beach itself is quite lovely. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent but they run out early. No food without walking about half a mile so come prepared and bring your own. Small selection of drinks available (no alcohol). Bathrooms were ok but not very clean.

The food here is delicious and full of flavor! We had the Mac & Cheese Ropa Vieja and the Mongolian Hashbrown, and both were absolutely amazing. Just a heads up on the service speed, as other posts mention, it takes a while to get your food, so expect to be there for at least 2 hours. Well worth it if you aren't in a rush!

My Musa experience, overall good. The valet parking eas excelent, quick, corteous and professional. Went during Brunch time, we were a group of 7, service began well, they were accomodating with food preferences, we had a few picky eaters and it was handled with patience and our waiter was corteous. After the order was taken and first round of drinks were served no more drinks were offered and in instances there were no waiters to be seen in the salon. Service could definetely be improved. Food its fresh, our ranking was 1. Queso frito in appetizers, 2 RopaVieja Croquetas, 3. Dumpligs-they were on the salty side. Main dishes- 1. Omeletes, 2. Ribs, the side rice was delicious, pechuga rellena ans burger were okay Yes, it takes a while, the experience could be improved if the waiter comes by and ask for drinks to keep us enterntained while we wait. Entrance of the building has wall art but structure is a little run down. Overall, fresh food, creative combination of flavors, definetely worth a visit if staying in the area.

We are so happy we found Musa! After searching for some time on Google for places to eat, we found Musa. We were happy to get a reservation. At first I was hesitant as the outside isn’t very nice, it once inside, the people were wonderful and food was excellent. Interesting combinations and flavors. You can tell the locals love it as the tables were filled. I had the cod with white beans. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!

The food was soo good!! Our favorites were the ropa vieja mac and cheese, the queso frito, and the tostones con ajo. We had Kimberly as our server and she was an absolute delight. We would absolutely come back and we’d recommend to anyone. Thank you Musa and Kimberly for the wonderful night!

I ordered the Churrasco risotto mampo and a blueberry mule. I highly recommend the churrasco, as the steak was cooked to perfection and paired well with the risotto. Parking is limited, so I also recommend just ubering there.

This was a beautiful museum! Especially the outside sculptures and pond. The staff was very educated in the additional events they had. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

The collection is wonderful. The organization is terrible. On their website I found a guided tour of the permanent exhibition on Saturday at 11 a.m. The day before, I asked about it and nobody knew anything. Eventually the event was confirmed for me. On Saturday, not only did I wait a long time after 11am, but it turned out the tour was with a group of small children. I was assured on site that it was for everyone. However, the guide focused on the kids and asked them many questions at a children’s level. It was not for adults! The staff were very nice, but the communication between them seemed nonexistent. Apparently there is a free guided tour every Sunday at 2 p.m. included in the ticket price. Note: on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. admission is free! (No one at the reception will tell you this.) It’s worth visiting the lower floor with the drawings. It’s a pity there is no interactive panel—like a musical add-on to the mural La Plena by Tufiño to listen to the traditional songs.

Well worth the $20 entrance! A beautiful collection of art from classical to modern to contemporary. The garden is lovely too. The wooden benches are meant to look like tamarind pods :)

My friends and I spent a wonderful time there! So peaceful and romantic ! Perfect place to invite your parents, or kids or your soul mate for an hour or two trip. Parking is free

Sure it's, "just a parking lot", but is it? Wide spaces, a designated entrance and exit, and lovely clover in the lane dividers. While you are here be sure to visit the gardens as well.

We were taking a cruise and flew in the day before to enjoy old San Juan and need a place to stay and found this little jewel. Can't beat the location and it was a nice, and budget friendly place to stay in the heart of Old San Juan! It was easy to find and check in was easy as well. The store right below managed the place and we were able to store our luggage before and after our stay which was fantastic! We were already aware we were on the 3rd floor so it did take some strength to get the luggage up the steps but once we arrived on our floor there was a nice sitting area and then we made our way to the room. Even though it was an older room, it was nicely decorated and seemed clean. I felt secure in the fact you had to key into main door, key into your floor door, and then your room. The place had a nice rooftop but we didn't have time to use it. The place was right it the heart of everything in Old San Juan which was awesome and the staff was friendly and responsive. Its great for a day or two stay and we would certainly book again!

Great location but be prepared with ear plugs because the area is noisy at night. Basic tolietries offered like soap and shampoo. Our room was on the second floor and the restroom was tiny. Nice terrace on the 4th floor. Great place to crash for a night or two if your plan is to enjoy Old San Juan by foot including at night.

The only good thing about this place is the location. The management was rude and unhelpful. There was excessive noise overnight from other guests, and when we brought it up, the manager simply said they could not control people. That was their solution to the issue. On top of that, there was no hot water in the bathroom, and the AC is controlled by the property rather than the guests. The only positives were that the room, although tiny, was clean, and the housekeeper in the morning was very nice. We ended up finding another place in the same area for the same price, but the difference was that they actually cared about their guests. I would never stay at Navona Studios again.

The room itself wasn’t anything special and the bathroom was tiny. And the only shower water temp was medium. But I didn’t care about any of that. The location was fantastic, the price is affordable, and it was clean and comfortable. It’s so fun to be right in the heart of Old San Juan. The rooftop was fantastic though, very clean and updated.

There is no elevator at this place. We did not have any hot water at all. The street noise was excessive until at least 2:00 in the morning. Cars were driving by with loud speakers playing music. Groups of people hung out outside the hotel on the street at all hours of the morning. We were very disappointed. The only good thing was is the room was extremely clean.

I visited La Placita de Santurce and honestly, it was one of the most authentic and complete experiences I’ve had in Puerto Rico. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere pulls you in. During the day it feels like a traditional local market, but at night it completely transforms into a vibrant hotspot full of music, lights, and energy. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed meal or an amazing nightlife experience. The food was excellent. There’s a wide variety of options: traditional Puerto Rican dishes, fresh seafood, meats, fried favorites, and even more modern choices. Everything I tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and generous in portion. Service overall was very good. Even though it gets busy, especially at night, the staff was attentive and efficient. People are friendly and the environment feels welcoming. What truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. Live music, DJs, people dancing in the streets, tourists and locals all together—it’s a perfect mix of culture, fun, and authenticity. You really feel the true essence of Puerto Rico. Prices are reasonable for the experience, and you can enjoy yourself without overspending, especially if you go with a group. Overall, La Placita de Santurce is a must-visit if you’re in San Juan. Perfect for food, fun, and a true local vibe. I would definitely come back.

The Adventures of La Placita I came on a Sunday night around 8pm. Walked around decided to get a drink first at El Coco De Luis. You may get overwhelmed with all the restaurants at first yet you eventually find what you want. They had a full bar so I ordered some Casa migo resposado spicy passion fruit margarita and just let the vibes of the music hit me. The location was everything you had the new school music up the block. The 90’ and early 2000’s to the left and the old school salsa and bachata to the right. With Bad Bunny playing in the middle. You just had to fi d your groove. There are many clubs and restaurants to choose from. I also tried La alcapurria Queme omg the flavors of the island. The hospitality of the people is so homely you truly become so thankful of the experience and the culture.

La Placita de Santurce is always alive. There’s so much energy in this place,music everywhere, amazing food, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. Everyone looks happy, and the vibe is just contagious. I absolutely love it. It’s so much fun every single time. What makes it even better is that there’s something for every type of crowd. Whether you’re looking for chill drinks, great food, dancing, or a full party atmosphere, you’ll find your spot here. It’s one of those places where no matter what day of the week you go, it’s still a good time. Ubers are affordable, which makes getting there and back super easy. And if you grab something to eat or drink, you can usually use the restroom at the restaurants, some places don’t even make a big deal about it, which is really nice. Overall, this place is amazing. I always find myself coming back. If you’re in Puerto Rico, La Placita is a must 💃🏻🪩🕺🏻🎶🍹

Our experience at La Placita was truly amazing. As part of our honeymoon trip to Puerto Rico, we visited this place after hearing many great recommendations, and we were excited to have a fun time. Coincidentally, we came across a live salsa band, which made the experience truly unique. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was fantastic—even though it was crowded, it still felt lively and enjoyable. There was security present at all times, which made us feel safe, and we really had a wonderful time. This place is now officially on our list of spots to return to when we go back to Puerto Rico! 💃🥂🇵🇷

Cafe Bistro was one of the highlights of our visit to the island! The food was excellent, with every dish prepared perfectly and full of flavor. The service was terrific—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The lattes were absolutely delicious and were the perfect complement to our meal. It’s clear that great care goes into both the food and beverages. The only downside was the lack of parking and the long wait times, especially since there is no indoor waiting area. During busy periods, this can make the experience a bit less comfortable while waiting for a table. That said, once seated, the experience more than made up for it. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back the next time we are on the island. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, exceptional service, and outstanding coffee!

Bistro Cafe is an absolute gem! The food is incredible, and the portions are huge—you definitely get your money's worth. It’s a busy location, but we lucked out and arrived right before the rush. The staff is incredibly nice, and our waitress was a lifesaver, helping us with translations and recommending the perfect dishes. The vibrant energy and excellent service made for an amazing dining experience. I will definitely be back soon on my next trip!

This was the first time we came here on a recommendation from a server at another restaurant. It was a good recommendation. The food was tasty, served hot and plentiful. My friends and husband liked it as well. The bloody mary came with a piece of bacon. The waffles were fresh and combined with Nutella was sooooo good. The "Ruiz" was scrumptious. It was worth the 15 minute wait.

Fantastic restaurant as evident by the long line outside the door. Even though there's a wait these people know what they are doing. Service is spot on. They have a good system to get people in seat and eating. Service very efficient and knowledgeable. The food is fantastic!! Must get the coffee drinks. They are amazing and special. Food was delicious. Ingredients fresh, well seasoned. Clearly, this restaurant shows the skill and pride of owners and staff. We will be back!!

Bistro Cafe offers a truly remarkable dining experience. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and every dish we tried was exceptional—easily some of the best-tasting food we’ve had. While it is slightly on the pricier side, the quality more than justifies the cost and is well worth every penny. My wife ordered the lobster Benedict, which was outstanding, and I had an omelet with pancakes that exceeded expectations in both flavor and presentation. Every bite reflected attention to detail and high-quality ingredients. The service was equally impressive. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided excellent recommendations, enhancing the overall experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and fully intend to return before heading home. Highly recommended.

My mini Shrimp empanadas were delicious. The bruschetta was like a Caprese salad. I give 5 stars for their Classic Mojito. Others in our party enjoyed the shrimp salad, salad with steak, and a house special that was steak Chicken and shrimp over rice. We sampled each others sides of sweet plantains (tasted like an hot banana) and fried plantains (was similar to potato has browns). They serve bottled Fiji if you ask for water. It’s $5 for a small bottle. You may decide to specify “tap water” if you don’t want to pay for Fiji. There were huge lobsters in their tank. One of which was scooped up and taken to the kitchen for the table next to us. The acoustics were bad. A very loud and happy birthday party in the next room was echoing throughout the place. Our waitress was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.

The food here is awesome!!! Rachlis did a fantastic job! Really appreciate the great service!! I had the skirt steak… it was perfect!!! Looking for a great restaurant with great atmosphere? Come here. We had a big group and all the food came out on time, hot, and perfect!

I was a little worried when we walked it, it didn’t seem to match the pictures a lot but the food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were delicious. We went here for our anniversary dinner and I absolutely think I’ll be back. I got the lobster risotto, 10/10 recommend!

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The servers were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive throughout the meal. The service was also impressively quick, which made everything even more enjoyable. It’s always nice to feel genuinely taken care of when dining out. I would definitely come back again!
