Lions Park
Roovio — Warm up at 8:10 Pink top White pants Pink socks Grey belt
We LOVE this park! I absolutely love that it is gated and shaded! Lots of unique equipment, like a kids hammock and an old school merry go round. This is not the only park at lions park though! They just finished construction near the covered park. It’s not gated, but it is a super awesome safari theme and we love it too. Overall the whole lions park area is one of the best in temple! Baseball and soccer fields, dog parks, pavilions, amphitheater, and amazing parks with some water! I included pictures of the new lions park, there are awesome swings, but don’t want to take pictures of kids!
I enjoy this park the scenery, the family friendlyenvironment, safety, I saw police patrol frequently. The bathrooms are stocked properly and are extremy clean. there is a calm serenity every time we've gone there. Although I feel they need more bathrooms in a few locations because of the width of the park. The dog park is great also
Lions Park is beautiful and clean. Lots of space to walk and a nice dog park.
Favorite park in Temple! Long walking trail, so great for dogs. Dog park, multiple playgrounds, and disc golf. Floods easily so I recommend waiting a few days after a big rain to visit. Lots of wildlife to photograph. Dog waste stations and benches throughout the park. Be careful of snakes as some areas are overgrown.
I walk to this park from my home. There are some challenging hills which I enjoy. There are always people here playing disc golf and jogging, and the playgrounds are vast and covered for the little ones. There are horseshoe pits and 2 doggie play areas. A great place for family get-togethers.

Wilson Park Softball Complex

Awesome job by temple park and rec crew
Great place for kids and families.
The fields have been renovated in the last 5 years. They are in good shape. The downside is at dusk the 2 southern fields look directly to the west so it's difficult for catchers and batters right before sundown during the fall.
Nice park but the main field has some drainage problem. Had to play on the other 3 fields for the tournament. Clean bathrooms. Lots of shade. Nice snack bar. Good parking lot.
This complex wouldn't let me take my water bottle into the complex and demanded that I pay for water at the concession stand and refused to offer me a small empty cup, unless I paid for it to get water out of the water fountain. The tiny water fountain barely let out a short stream of water. It was extremely hot! More concerned about making money than the people suffering there and their needs. So sad! And they are influencing our children! BEWARE!!
Back Porch Drafthouse
Roovio — I had "The Wag" burger and WOW it was amazing, cooked to perfection! My special requests were accurately executed. The Wag comes with french fries and that was the one area I felt could use some improvement. They were lackluster and had that weird coating. I feel it is a huge missed opportunity there! So many restaurants have turned to making their fries from fresh potatoes right there in the restaurant. It doesn't take much to make the fries in house, and fresh made fries would have really elevated my meal. My son had the Frito pie, and enjoyed every bite. I also ordered a side of onion rings and those were very good. Our waitress was amazing, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was high energy with patrons laughing, watching games on the large screen TVs around the restaurant, and enjoying each other's company. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
I stopped in for lunch while waiting on a Dr. appointment. I got the brisket grilled cheese and onion rings. It was amazing and the service by Dash was awesome! I would definitely eat here again.
We have gone to the Northlake location for years and have always loved it! Today, we decided to try Temple location on our way out of town and were extremely disappointed. Atmosphere was okay, just terrible music selection. 1. Food took long to come out, and once it finally did come out, my wings and fries were practically room temperature & my husband’s hamburger bun was burnt. Waitress came and they remade it, but couldn’t even make the burger how it is described because they ran out of ingredients. 2. Floors in bathroom were so sticky, my flip flop was leaving track marks in the residue. 🤮 3. Waitresses were not attentive (we sat on dining side, the only ones sat over there and they were in the bar majority of the time hanging with the regulars I’m sure. Still have a job to do! 4. Waitress ran my card, then entered someone else’s tip amount on my check, so she had to void my transaction (without telling me first) and asked to re-run my card again. Overall, just one terrible thing after the other. Do better, Temple! Trash compared to Northlake location.
Stopped here for a bite while I was in Temple visiting the VA clinic. It was during lunch so the crowd was nonexistent. I can imagine this place could get raucous at times with all the TVs and beer. Everything here is pub style food...fried appetizers, salads, hand held sandwiches, burgers, sides and such. My porker sandwich had pulled pork, ham, cheese, slaw and BBQ sauce on a brioche bun with fries.
I've been here several times- every time has been absolutely delicious... However- this last time I went, I had a severe craving for a French Dip sandwich... and this one? Fell short. Mostly, the flavor was over powered by the cheese. There was not nearly enough meat, and if there were grilled onions in it? I couldn't tell, not by looks, not by flavor. The au jus dip was also lacking in that robust flavor that I know, and craved. I went to Arby's the next day, theirs was significantly larger, well balanced in meat to cheese ratio, and the dip was on point. Not too mention a couple bucks cheaper. I don't know if the person preparing my sandwich at Back Porch just didn't pay attention to portion, or what happened- but, I didn't say anything to my server, cuz she barely came to check on us, and when she did, it took too long for the request to be met (asked for extra ranch to go with our fried pickles, it came out with our meal). I also requested bbq sauce, with our meal, and it was barely half a souffle cup AND I was charged for it. Usually, Back Porch is sensational, but not this time.
Black Rifle Coffee Company
Roovio
Finally got to check one of these out! Lots of cool swag to buy. Coffee was tasty! They have a ton of flavors and options. Always love supporting veteran owned businesses.
Sage and Matthew were experts on all my picky coffee questions. Perfect customer service. Treated me like I was their only customer. They represented Black Rifle Coffee better than expected. Promote them. Give them raises. Keep these employees happy bc they customers coming back!!
As a veteran-founded coffee chain, this establishment in Temple TX offers discounts to veterans and first responders. During our visit, we were impressed by the array of distinctive espresso drinks featuring novel flavors that we had not previously encountered at a coffee shop. My husband, a regular coffee drinker, appreciated the Smokey Joe Latte for its subtle sweetness. I chose the Yule Fuel Mocha, which featured Mexican Chocolate and a spicy finish, likely achieved through the incorporation of chamoy. In addition to their beverage offerings, the coffee shop provides baked goods, sells bags of coffee, and offers unique gift items suitable for holiday gift-giving. They also host meet-ups and activities on specific days and dates, which the staff would be happy to discuss.
My first time trying this company the coffee is really good. The people are really friendly. The only thing I would add is they need better lids because the coffee just drips out on the side of the lids. I don’t think they’re very secure other than that everything else was perfect.
My husband and I love their coffee, and specifically, Beyond Black. We only have the opportunity to buy it in the store and make the coffee at home, however; while in Texas, we were able to order two coffee drinks at their drive thru/sit in coffee shop, and buy some coffee beans. The wild blackberry coffee was so good!
Really like that they open at 5am. Went in about 6am. I had a latte and 3 cheese egg bites, husband had the cinnamon roll. Also had a slice of pumpkin roll. Everything was delicious. The coffee was smooth.
