3 Days of Puerto Rican Paradise!

La Concha Resort exceeded every expectation, and the highlight of my birthday trip was without a doubt the spa. Francesco gave one of the best massages I have ever had, incredibly skilled, attentive to exactly what I needed, and left me completely relaxed. The spa itself has a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the resort's stunning setting. Our room had a breathtaking ocean view and the grounds were beautifully maintained throughout. Having multiple on-site restaurants made dining so convenient and enjoyable, and the casino was a fantastic bonus that added a fun element to the evenings. If you are planning a trip to Puerto Rico, La Concha is the place to stay and do yourself a favor and book a massage with Francesco. You will not regret it!

My husband and I were recently in San Juan for our 32nd wedding anniversary and stayed at LaConcha. It is a beautiful resort with very spacious and clean suites. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially the hotel managers, the Elemara Spa services team and the Aqa restaurant crew. We had an oceanfront suite that also overlooked the pool to enjoy the awesome views. Everyone was vey accommodating and willing to guide us with tips & activities. Highly recommend staying at the resort.

As of July 7, 2026: This hotel is undergoing major beachfront renovations. A high-powered hydraulic breaker has been demolishing the beautiful infinity pool from early morning each day, to 5 P.M. creating constant, extremely loud construction noise that significantly impacts the guest experience. The beach also raised safety concerns during my stay. There was no lifeguard by the beach. Guard post is located 100 meter inland, and a rip current warning sign welcomes you. The beach seems to be accessible to anyone from local, other hotels - it is public beach rather exclusive to this 4star hotel which charges $500 per night. The photos shown online no longer accurately reflect the current condition of the property because of the ongoing construction. The hotel also requires a $400 security deposit, which was not something I expected. Finally, the room air conditioner is unusually loud, sounding more like a commercial refrigerator than a hotel HVAC unit. After staying here, I understand why there is a second door separating the entrance and bathroom area from the bedroom—it appears to help reduce the noise from the air-conditioning unit. Staff and employees here are the best part, and they work hard and smile to satisfy the guests. However all the others are not up to the standars. Overall, I wish I had known about these conditions before booking. This hotel does not deserve its price and fame.

The hotel lobby was amazing with a great staff to check you in and a wonderful bar with plenty of comfortable seating at and around the bar area with great drinks and an excellent menu with excellent food options from salads and seafood to vegan options. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable. The staff was professional, helpful and always available. There was an excellent team on the beach to assist you with towels, beach chairs & umbrellas and also serve you food and drinks from the restaurant. The same setup was at all three swimming pools.....yes, all three of them. Two different restaurants served an excellent buffet along with menu options. The restaurant we went to for dinner was so amazing we went and ordered the same meal & drinks again a couple of nights later! I highly recommend La Concha Resort (a Marriott property in case you have points or want to earn them). It's in a great area to walk and sight-see when/if you decide to leave the grounds of the hotel. Thanks, Kevin

Less populated beach and very beautiful. Chairs and umbrellas are available and a little bar nearby. It was nice for me to get away from all the people. Even the same crabs will come out and play in the waves. It is a very small beach though.

Nice city beach, the water here can certainly be dangerous if you aren’t cautious and paying attention to lifeguards. Fun to play in the waves if you’re a confident swimmer. Beach chairs and umbrellas are $35/day. There are lots of hotels, restaurants and bars in the area. A great spot for simple relaxation in the sun.

Condado Beach is in a very busy area a lot of restaurants and much congested. This beach caters more to a younger more vibing crowd. There is music being played which creates a vibe waves definitely a lot rougher on this side. There are bar stands that sell pineapple drinks on the beach with or without sorbet. Yet it's so freaking refreshing and delicious

Beautiful beach. Nice spots for photos. Chair and umbrella rentals available. Only about 15 minutes from the cruise port. Just note that there are no changing areas, lifeguard towers or public restrooms. Word on the street there are strong rip currents at times.

I visited La Placita de Santurce and honestly, it was one of the most authentic and complete experiences I’ve had in Puerto Rico. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere pulls you in. During the day it feels like a traditional local market, but at night it completely transforms into a vibrant hotspot full of music, lights, and energy. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed meal or an amazing nightlife experience. The food was excellent. There’s a wide variety of options: traditional Puerto Rican dishes, fresh seafood, meats, fried favorites, and even more modern choices. Everything I tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and generous in portion. Service overall was very good. Even though it gets busy, especially at night, the staff was attentive and efficient. People are friendly and the environment feels welcoming. What truly makes this place special is the atmosphere. Live music, DJs, people dancing in the streets, tourists and locals all together—it’s a perfect mix of culture, fun, and authenticity. You really feel the true essence of Puerto Rico. Prices are reasonable for the experience, and you can enjoy yourself without overspending, especially if you go with a group. Overall, La Placita de Santurce is a must-visit if you’re in San Juan. Perfect for food, fun, and a true local vibe. I would definitely come back.

The Adventures of La Placita I came on a Sunday night around 8pm. Walked around decided to get a drink first at El Coco De Luis. You may get overwhelmed with all the restaurants at first yet you eventually find what you want. They had a full bar so I ordered some Casa migo resposado spicy passion fruit margarita and just let the vibes of the music hit me. The location was everything you had the new school music up the block. The 90’ and early 2000’s to the left and the old school salsa and bachata to the right. With Bad Bunny playing in the middle. You just had to fi d your groove. There are many clubs and restaurants to choose from. I also tried La alcapurria Queme omg the flavors of the island. The hospitality of the people is so homely you truly become so thankful of the experience and the culture.

La Placita de Santurce is always alive. There’s so much energy in this place,music everywhere, amazing food, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. Everyone looks happy, and the vibe is just contagious. I absolutely love it. It’s so much fun every single time. What makes it even better is that there’s something for every type of crowd. Whether you’re looking for chill drinks, great food, dancing, or a full party atmosphere, you’ll find your spot here. It’s one of those places where no matter what day of the week you go, it’s still a good time. Ubers are affordable, which makes getting there and back super easy. And if you grab something to eat or drink, you can usually use the restroom at the restaurants, some places don’t even make a big deal about it, which is really nice. Overall, this place is amazing. I always find myself coming back. If you’re in Puerto Rico, La Placita is a must 💃🏻🪩🕺🏻🎶🍹

I highly recommend ordering the carne frita with rice and beans. The pork is cooked and seasoned to perfection. If you’re from the south, the beans and rice will literally remind you of southern red beans and rice. I originally ordered the mofongo, but I was not a fan of it at all. It was too dry for my liking. The beans and rice were more of my speed. Affordable prices but very limited parking. Definitely worth a try.

★★★★ Had a great experience at La Cueva del Mar — definitely a spot worth visiting while in San Juan. We started with the arroz con camarones, which was cooked perfectly. The texture was spot on, though the flavor leaned a bit on the mild side for my taste. Still very enjoyable. The standout dish for me was the mofongo with lobster topped with garlic sauce — absolutely delicious. The lobster was cooked to perfection and super tender, and the mofongo had great flavor and texture. Easily the highlight of the meal. We also tried the fish tacos. The fish itself was crispy and well done, but the slaw on top could’ve used a bit more flavor to really elevate the dish. To top it off, we had a dozen fresh oysters, and they were incredibly fresh — a must if you’re a seafood fan. Overall, the experience was great. The ambiance was lively and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

I highly enjoyed La Cueva Del Mar! I wanted a mix of Latin and seafood and this was the perfect choice. It was recommended by one of our tour guides so it is a great option for both locals and tourists. It had a nice atmosphere and very large menu with many different types of options. The Frutti di mare was one of the best pastas I've ever had! It had almost every type of seafood you could want. A great option for someone who wants to try a bit of everything. It was large enough to satisfy you but not too large where you have to take leftovers it back to your hotel. It also came with a salad and delicious bread. My husband ordered the yucafongo pollo, and was very impressed. It was also filling and well made. The drink menu also had a lot of options. I went with the sangria which was super tasty! It's more on the fruity side. Our service was great and we didn't have to wait long for a table or our food, although it seemed busy. Whether you live in the area or are just on vacation, I would recommended trying it out!

It was super super good. We had lunch there on our first night. The atmosphere was fun. Everyone was super nice. The food was absolutely delicious and their house green sauce made it even better. It is definitely worth trying out

Went here for dinner, the staff are friendly and prompt. The menu also boasts of good number of options. We loves the coconut mojito, and the baja tacos. Although, the grilled salmon could have been a bit better, it felt a bit oily for our liking.

The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico is a beautiful museum and a must-visit if you appreciate Puerto Rican art and culture. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to answer questions. I enjoy taking my time with each piece of art, so I spent nearly five hours exploring all four floors, the three special exhibits, and the beautiful botanical garden. If you prefer to move through at a quicker pace, you could probably see everything in about two hours. I highly recommend visiting this museum. It's a wonderful way to experience the beauty, history, and creativity of Puerto Rico through its incredible collection of artwork.

I wish I had more time and paid to see the limited exhibits! What a beautiful place! Because I am military, it was only $11 for my daughter and I to enter. Gift shop is also amazing. I will find my way back!

The collection is wonderful. The organization is terrible. On their website I found a guided tour of the permanent exhibition on Saturday at 11 a.m. The day before, I asked about it and nobody knew anything. Eventually the event was confirmed for me. On Saturday, not only did I wait a long time after 11am, but it turned out the tour was with a group of small children. I was assured on site that it was for everyone. However, the guide focused on the kids and asked them many questions at a children’s level. It was not for adults! The staff were very nice, but the communication between them seemed nonexistent. Apparently there is a free guided tour every Sunday at 2 p.m. included in the ticket price. Note: on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. admission is free! (No one at the reception will tell you this.) It’s worth visiting the lower floor with the drawings. It’s a pity there is no interactive panel—like a musical add-on to the mural La Plena by Tufiño to listen to the traditional songs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our lunch at Café El Punto was one of the highlights of our trip to San Juan. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, everything was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic Puerto Rican flavor. I ordered the chuleta con arroz apastelado, and it was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the fish, which was fresh, flavorful, and equally outstanding. The drinks were excellent, and before we left, we also enjoyed two cappuccinos that were absolutely delicious. What truly made this experience unforgettable was the atmosphere and the incredible service. We had lunch in a beautiful dining room that is over 1,000 years old, surrounded by so much history and character. Our waiter, who was from Spain, was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. When he saw my last name was Lisboa, he smiled and said, “Es un placer… un placer servir a un Lisboa.” That personal touch made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food, drinks, cappuccinos, service, and atmosphere were all five stars across the board. We will definitely come back to this spot the next time we’re in San Juan. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the restaurant is tucked away behind a small strip of vendors and feels a little secluded. We were brought to our table almost immediately, but the room we were seated in felt even more secluded - almost dungeon-like. Felt a little awkward, especially after the other patrons left and it was just our family in a quiet room with the doors closed. Even after this, I was excited to try the food. The mini empanadas and fruit smoothies were delicious and refreshing, but I was let down by the stuffed avocado... It was literally half of an avocado with a few shrimp on top. $34 dollars for half an avocado and 4 shrimp seemed like overkill to me. Even drizzling some extra garlic sauce on top of the avocado would’ve made it a more enjoyable and presentable dish, but there just didn’t seem to be much love in it. The creole sauce on the grouper was very salty, but the rice and beans were fantastic. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but in the end it kind of just felt like a tourist trap.

If you’re looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, this place is a must. The flavors are rich, fresh, and feel homemade, exactly how local cuisine should be. The fried fish was perfectly crispy, the sides like plantains and avocado were fresh and balanced, and everything came out hot and full of flavor. Very local and cozy, giving you that real Old San Juan vibe. Definitely recommend if you want a true taste of Puerto Rico without the touristy feel.

Eggs churrasco and fries was a very delicious plate! Fries were crispy and had a great hearty flavor. The beans were also to die for, though the portion could be a bit bigger. The only miss for me was the mofongo. It was a bit too hard and sticky. Flavor was good but consistency was not the best. Their homemade salsa picante de habanero was also very delicious!

Before I get to the food, Luis was our server and was ON POINT in taking care of our table and keeping it clean for us as we ate. He was VERY attentive and professional and I would love to have him as our server again. The food!?……..I almost cried it was so good!! 😭 I had the fish ceviche as an appetizer and the grouper with the garlic sauce as the entree and omG was that fish the best prepared fish I’ve had! It was PERFECTly cooked and the flavor was just 😙🤌🏼 I even used the rice to soak up the rest of the juice from the ceviche because I didn’t want to waste a single bit of ANYTHING on my plate/s. This place is WELL worth the price and I would LOVE to come back next time I’m in town.

San Cristóbal Castle was an incredible place to explore and a true highlight of Old San Juan. The sheer size of the fortress is impressive — it feels like a maze of tunnels, ramparts, lookout points, and hidden corners that you could wander through for hours. Every section reveals another amazing view of the city or coastline. The historical atmosphere is very well preserved, and the signage gives just the right amount of context to appreciate what you’re seeing. Walking through the tunnels and defensive structures really brings the past to life in a way that feels immersive rather than museum-like. The views alone are worth the visit — panoramic scenes of Old San Juan paired with ocean breezes make the experience both educational and relaxing. It’s clean, well maintained, and easy to navigate for families. If you’re visiting San Juan, San Cristóbal is absolutely a must-see. It perfectly blends history, scenery, and exploration into a memorable experience we’d gladly do again.

Excellent visit to Castillo San Cristobal. Admission is $10 but is also good for admission to the nearby Castillo San Felipe del Morro within one day of your visit here. So be sure to take advantage of this perk. The castle contains some great exhibits providing details on its history. It also offers some really amazing views of the streets and buildings Old San Juan...very unique. Note that there are some hills (some steep) and steps throughout the castle and its grounds...so pre prepared and wear comfortable shoes. Great location just steps from the streets of Old San Juan with tons of food options and other attractions. A short walk from the cruise port.

The little brother of the two forts, but no less impressive. The views are spectacular. Make sure to find the spiral staircase to the upper level. You won't regret that trek. Remember, one pass ($10) gets you into both places for the day. Make sure to take the trip to both. Walk between them and see Old San Juan!

On a Wednesday morning in January, I first spent a couple of hours going through all the levels of Castillo El Morro, then walked over to San Cristobal. It takes around 20 minutes on foot. Then spent 45-50 minutes at this smaller castle. Had to rush a bit because I had a flight soon. Entry is free if you have the National Parks Pass. Worth a visit in addition to El Morro. The long tunnel walks, and the slit viewpoints (probably for machine gunners) are pretty unique to San Cristobal. There are signs throughout, so it's easy to know what's remaining to see.

After staying here, I understand why there is a second door separating the entrance and bathroom area from the bedroom—it appears to help reduce the noise from the air-conditioning unit. Staff and employees here are the best part, and they work hard and smile to satisfy the guests. However all the others are not up to the standars. Overall, I wish I had known about these conditions before booking. This hotel does not deserve its price and fame.

La Concha Resort was WONDERFUL! The hotel lobby was amazing with a great staff to check you in and a wonderful bar with plenty of comfortable seating at and around the bar area with great drinks and an excellent menu with excellent food options from salads and seafood to vegan options. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable. The staff was professional, helpful and always available. There was an excellent team on the beach to assist you with towels, beach chairs & umbrellas and also serve you food and drinks from the restaurant. The same setup was at all three swimming pools.....yes, all three of them. Two different restaurants served an excellent buffet along with menu options. The restaurant we went to for dinner was so amazing we went and ordered the same meal & drinks again a couple of nights later! I highly recommend La Concha Resort (a Marriott property in case you have points or want to earn them). It's in a great area to walk and sight-see when/if you decide to leave the grounds of the hotel. Thanks, Kevin

We had such a great experience at Ropa Vieja Grill while visiting Puerto Rico that we came back a second time during our trip! Both meals were absolutely delicious, with flavorful food, generous portions, and authentic Puerto Rican dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. A special thank you to Alex, who was our server both times we visited. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Alex consistently provided excellent service, checked on us regularly, and offered great recommendations. His professionalism, warm personality, and attention to detail made both dining experiences memorable and were a big reason we chose to return. So good we went twice while in San Juan! Service was amazing and created such a nice experience we just could not stay away. We tried it all. Skirt steak and filet were incredible. The salmon steak with mango salsa was superb. And the pollo mufungo was also terrific as well. Strongly recommend going!

This was honestly the BEST mofongo we had in Puerto Rico. After trying a few places, this restaurant completely stood out. We ordered the seafood mofongo and it was absolutely incredible Super flavorful, moist, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was delicious. We also tried the fried whole snapper and it was cooked perfectly, crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, super fresh and full of flavor. The mofonguitos were amazing too, so delicious and such a fun appetizer. We also had the empanadas and the ropa vieja quesadilla, and honestly everything we ordered was excellent. You can really taste the freshness and care in the food here. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting authentic Puerto Rican food done right. Definitely one of our favorite meals in Puerto Rico.

Food was delicious and the Server Gia was fantastic. We had the mofongonitos with ropa viejo for appetizer. For entree the churassco steak and the salmon in mango sauce. Everything was excellent. We also went for breakfast the next morning. My son had the French Toast. I had the buffet. I didn't get pictures of the churassco or buffet.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to learn about the history of Puerto Rico, make sure you check out this location. For just $10 a person, access is granted to explore the grounds of this castle and during the time I went, your ticket was good for two days. When visiting, I would highly suggest wearing sneakers, and bringing water when touring. They do have a small gift shop on location that you can also purchase small items. Due to the beauty of this castle, it is also a great opportunity to grab some photos. The views are breathtaking and worth the visit. I would highly recommend.

El Morro is a sight to see. I went around 10:15 with two kids, age 4 and 6. The wait was just a few minutes. We stayed about 2 hours. We did a lot of walking. The kids had a shorter attention span, just wanted to see the things and explore, up and down the stairs. Beautiful views. I would advise to bring your own cold water (they do sell around 4 bucks a bottle) and umbrella or hand fan if you have. The video they showed in the casemates area was very informative and eye opening, as well as a needed break after up and down stairs. Also, there's a spot before you go downstairs with bars to look out, amazing breeze for a cool down. The day we went was slightly cloudy. The sun was hot when it came out. The few clouds were appreciated when it covered the sun. When we left around noon, the line was long. Thank goodness we came when we did. When you leave treat yourself to helado (icee) or piragua/snowcone when you get off the property. Muy deliciouso.

Price $10 and you can use the ticket at the other fort. The walk is about 30 minutes to get to the other fort. The cemetery is free to walk down to. The closest parking lot Ballaja was the 1st choice at FV9J+485, Calle Morovis, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico for $10.but is was full on a Wednesday at 1030 am we ee parked at the Esquire Garage which was $37. The walk from there was about 20 minutes. We went in July and we sweat so so much. They had water amd Gatorade in the park we got one of each fpr $8.

Such an amazing experience visiting this place. All the history behind it was phenomenal to learn. It makes you think about all the injustices the puerto rican people have been going through with such resilience. I do recommend going as they open or later in the afternoon before they close because walking there with no shade is no joke. Lol. Make sure to wear a hat and shades. The entrance fee was resonable for all the things you get to see. It should be around 2-3 hours depending on if you read all the signs with the history or just walk through. 100% would recommend! Beautiful place with a lot of history! Visiting Castillo San Felipe del Morro was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. The fort is incredibly well preserved, and the history is fascinating. The views of the Atlantic Ocean and Old San Juan are absolutely breathtaking, especially from the top of the fortress. There is plenty to explore, so wear comfortable shoes and plan to spend a couple of hours walking through the tunnels, lookout points, and historic rooms. The grounds are beautiful, and it’s easy to imagine what life was like centuries ago. Whether you’re interested in history, photography, or just looking for an unforgettable view, El Morro is definitely worth visiting. I would highly recommend adding it to your Puerto Rico itinerary!

This was worth the wait. We waited around 20 minutes. The host and servers were very friendly and hospitable. The vibe in the restaurant was very festive. We were seated upstairs and had a great view of the first floor. The pina coladas were delish and the food was so yummy. We had the snapper, steak, pork. We had sides of yellow rice and sweet plantains. So good! You name it, it was delish. We had the coconut flan and the tres leches for dessert and I must say the flan was the best one I’ve ever tasted. I understand the hype of visiting this long-established restaurant!

Quite the amazing food experience. We went during Sanse, and were lucky enough to be seated right away, for 7 of us. The bill with appetizers, 7 meals and one pitcher of Sangria with Tip was $300.00. What a wonderful surprise that was. The waitress was friendly, the food service was fast, and the atmosphere was fun and decor was authentic. Every time someone made it in to be seated, they received a cheer with applause from the entire restaurant. They celebrated birthdays with an amazing ensemble of singers and instruments, MY birthday included. Everyone ate every last bite off their plates, we had fish, mofongo, shrimp, and steak, and we all enjoyed it. Some from my group were locals, others born there but are frequent flyers and others are Puerto Ricans from New York. We know good food, and this place knows how to make it. Thank you for putting flavor in our trip! Hands down, the best food we had while eating out in the area.

In San Juan for the day and randomly stopped here for lunch. The food was delicious. Very authentic. I loved the rice & beans. We all enjoyed our food. Our server was helpful and friendly. Glad we stopped here and when we are in SJ again, we will def be back.

We love the whole fried snapper here and came twice for the same dish within our one week visit. The fish is coated with savory garlicky flavors! It had an addicting crunch on the outside with fresh flaky tender meat on the inside. We also love the yellow rice and rice with beans! There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between the medium vs large fish, and service can be slow depending on the time. The tamales was okay, but we definitely recommend the whole fried snapper!

Great for local food tasting! The Mofongo was great! And the “chillo frito” delicious, we didn’t have to wait that much for a table given that we were a group of 7. Staff friendly and helpful to guide you through the menu options. Definitely will recommend everyone this place!

This is a beach like no other located near the Old Town of San Juan. Once you cross from Condado, the next part is El Escambron. There are a lot of people (tourists) who are snorkeling the turquoise waters. The you see a no man island right of the beach that provides some protection from the big waves. On one side of the beach there is an abandoned series of buildings and it’s taken over by stay cats and chickens or even iguanas. It’s almost like a small glimpse of paradise. Many claim that this is the best overall beach in San Juan and overall that’s true because of the coral reef. There is a protective layer of coral reef that keeps the turquoise waters calm and safe for swimming, snorkeling and typically there are sea turtles and many other marine life like tropical fish, crabs and you name it. There are public facilities like restrooms and showers. Math street vendors or vendors of the beach. All this action minutes from Old San Juan.

Stunning beaches. They have multiple bathrooms and lifeguards on duty There are some small food vendors. But no major restaurants. Parking is under $7 for 24 hours. There are restaurants within walking distance Beautiful, calm beach. With a reef barrier to protect all from rip Current. Definitely safe for small children still, it’s water. Parents need to be alert.

Balneario El Escambrón was perfect. You have the option to go snorkeling, either through a tour company or on your own if you have your own equipment. The water is incredibly calm, since it’s a protected area, which makes it a very safe and family-friendly spot especially for kids. They have bathrooms on-site and plenty of trees that provide great shade, making it comfortable to spend a few hours there. The water is super clear and beautiful. The only downside is that there aren’t many food options available right at the beach. However, you can easily order Uber Eats or take a short 10-minute walk to nearby coffee shops or food trucks. Other than that, it’s an amazing place. I absolutely loved it, highly recommend it, and will definitely be back!

Amazing food!!! Absolutely worth every bite. Everything we ordered was delicious, and each dish felt like a delicacy. I honestly wish I could have tried everything on the menu! The atmosphere is super dope and gives you the feeling of stepping into another era. The service was outstanding as well. A special shoutout to our server, Pedro (aka Cotto), who made the entire experience even better with his great service and hospitality. If you’re in the area and can’t decide where to eat, stop here—you won’t regret it. I highly recommend it!

The atmosphere here is amazing. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Came here for dinner on my first night of my vacation, off a recommendation. I had to go back to try more dishes from the menu. Everything was served to perfection and the mojitos were top notch.

Very popular restaurant on the main street near the cruise port. Expect waits during peak dinner hours (6pm - 7:30pm) especially on weekends and when the cruise ships are docked. I was able to get a single seat at the bar (there is a small - about 6-8 seats - bar toward the back of restaurant) during peak times on a weekday evening. I ordered the steak which was good but the wait for food was about 30-40 minutes...granted...they were packed that night. Service was excellent throughout...very friendly and patient staff.

A beautiful restaurant with amazing, traditional Puerto Rican cuisine! Keep in mind they don't take reservations, so the wait can be long (our party of 8 waited about 1 hr 45 mins), but it is 100% worth it. Our waiter was dressed in beautiful traditional attire and gave us excellent menu recommendations. The food was delicious, well-priced, and the portions were great. Even when one of our guests' orders was accidentally forgotten, they corrected it and had it out within 10 minutes. They have a dedicated kids' menu and vegetarian options, too. I would definitely recommend Raíces if you're visiting Old San Juan!

Hola Darlings I had dinner at Raíces, and overall it was a good meal! The food was good, though the service was just okay since things were a bit slow. For appetizers, we had the croquetas de bacalao. For the main, I got the Kan Kan chop, it was a huge portion that could easily feed two people. The table next to me was raving about the seafood paella, so I would definitely try that next time. This is a good spot if you're not in a rush!

One of my least favorite airports. The restaurants are a mix of American fast food: dominoes, popeyes; international fare: ramen, Spanish; and gas station food. And it's so expensive. Yes airports are expensive, but it's expensive and unsatisfying. Then the duty free is a waste of time. You can get the same items on the island and just pack it in your bag and save a bunch of money. And the security is super relaxed. I have a subdermal device that always get me pat down. I went through, they asked if I had a necklace, I said yes, and they cleared me. The airport isn't bad, it's just not good and spending time there isn't fun.

Great airport. Best advice be there 2 to 3hr early just to be on the safe side. Just please wary of one of elevators to the terminals it will get stuck especially trying to get out. Follow these steps when at the airport have your bags go threw scanner so they can yellow tag it, then go to the counter and have your bag checked in after that you have to get in line for TSA, it can be really quick so just be patient and you shall make it to your flight.

I was flying out of Terminal A at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, and honestly the experience getting in was rough. With everything going on around the government shutdown, TSA was extremely slow—long lines and pretty chaotic just to get through the initial checkpoint. Definitely give yourself extra time. The airport itself feels older and a bit worn down. It could really use a refresh. That said, once you’re inside, there are actually a lot of solid food options for breakfast and lunch, plus some good shopping and local snacks. On the bright side, flights seem to run pretty smoothly and leave on time, which helps make up for the hassle getting in. Not my favorite airport, but it gets the job done for the area.

Arriving at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport was a good experience. The airport was clean, organized, and easy to get around. Signs for baggage claim and transportation were clear. My luggage came out quickly, and the whole process was smooth from landing to exit. A nice first impression of Puerto Rico!!
